During these same 1 8 years, there has been but one small increase in Utah Power & Light Company's rates for electricity. . .that's the bottom line. While the cost of living has risen substantially, our electric rates have gone up only 7 in Utah, In 1963; 4.1 In Idaho, in 1964; and 10.4 in Wyoming, in 1964. Many people are now enjoying color television, self defrosting refrigerators, and more recently, garbage compactors. There are many appliances that were not in general use 1 8 years ago that consume more power In the home than 1 8 years ago. That's why most people have a higher electric bill today than they did in 1953. We've done better than most in offsetting inflation with more efficient operations.
