Show ' ' wn-- I a TABIONA Mr. Connie I.e . 848-256- 1 Graveside services were held Friday o at Tabiona for the twin son of Mr. and Mra. Dennis Jones, The babies were born at Duchesne County hospital Monday. The other twin boy is doing good at this time. Prayer at the grave was given by Ray Jones a member of the bishopric, Remarks by an Uncle of Dennis, Nathan Jones of Bonanza. The grave was dedicated by Leo Turnbow who was in charge of the services and also there home teacher. Those from out of town attending were Mr. and Mrs. Craig Neilson and family of Granger, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Jones and daughter of Bonanza Colo., Yvonne Walker of Idaho, Mra. Romona Collins, Mrs. Virginia Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Garlic, Mrs. Florence Chatwin all of Sail Lake, Inez Hardman and family of Orem. Also attending were the grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wooley and relatives and friends from this area. The people of the ward and community offer our sympathy at this time. We were all sad to hear of the death of Melvin Chatwin of tahi this past week. Melvin was born in Tabiona and lived here for many years. Services were held in tahi Saturday of this week. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Defa, Jennie Jones, Jack Young, Wallace and Gilbert Chatwin, Harvey Chatwin, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Curry. The people of this area offer our sympathy at this time. e Steve Anderson took Marva and Marsha Turnbow out to Salt Lake Saturday to visit Duane Johnson who is still very ill in the hospital. They remained in the city Saturday night and returned in time for church Sunday morning. They stayed with there brother Lynn Turnbow. Jannette Turnbow went to the Temple Saturday to do some of her own names that she had been doing geneolngy for sometime. It was a lovely experience with Rwd Turnbow Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Voda spent several days in Rock Creek this week fishing and visiting. They report catching some fish and having a good time. Charlie Shcves spent the weekend at home and will return to Ten Slup Wyo. Monday to continue the project for Board reports hiring of teachers, principal The approval of new teacher, lunch room personnel, and the hiring of a new principal at Duchesne high school were the main topics of discussion at the July 26 meeting at the Duchesne County school board. Contracts for 14 more teachers were approved by the board at the recommendation of school Superintendent Thomas J. Abplanalp. This brings to 42 the number of new teachers hired for the 1973-7school year. According to the superintendent at least one more teacher will be offered a contract. In addition 39 other names were approved to operate the school lunch program in the district's eight schools. Jesse S. Brown was also approved by the Board to be the new principal at Duchesne high school. Brown was a biology instructor at Clearfield high school he replaces in Davis county in 1972-73- , Lowell C. Caldwell who was recently appointed administrative assistant to the district superintendent. Brown was one of the two finalists for the position and was chosen after the two were interviewed at the meeting by board members. An increase of 1.785 mills was also approved by the Board rasing the levy Cromlhe current 37.090 to 39.275. The increase was necessitated according to Superintendent Abplanalp because by legislation laws which allowed lowered miu levy then 28 mills. But a new law passed in the last legislative aquired a returen to the 28 mill levy withing 3 years to keep eligibility in the State equalization program. Marlin Johnson, director of the Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center met with the board to discuss class schedules for 1973-7- 4 and tuition agreement with the district for 1974. The board approved paying $975 per full time student equivalent to the vocational center. Approval of Iht educational specifications on the Duchesne high school indurstial arts classroom suup auumon and directions to have the architects proceed with preliminary plans were given by the board. In other board, action approval was given for $G00 to renovate the Union high school office by partitioning off two office space areas. This came abjout as part of the district's obligations under a federal matching grant for an Indian Attendance officer at the school, the district being responsible for providing office space. The board also reviewed the current building program of the district, rental of the Roosevelt American Legion hall for classrooms next year, and remodeling at Duchesne elementary school George of the board, was Terry, also given permission to attend the National School Baord Association Summer Institute in Buena Vista, Ya. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Orvin (Dclphia) Moon and family, Alton Moon and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Nye and family of Draper, Mr- - and Mrs. Floyd Nye and family of Pocalella Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Carl John Nye and family of Texas, Ted I). Nye and family of Salt take, tarena Curry and family of St. George, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nye, Linn Sherman of Ariz. They all reported a real Tine time. Mr. and Mrs. Carl John Nye and family and tauis's brother Linn Shermin will leave Monday for Mesa Ariz. to visit tauis's parents. They will go as far as St. George in company with laltena and and see she doesn't have any family trouble. They have all been visiting this past week with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nye and other relatives and friends in this area and Salt take. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Van Tassell attended a family reunion in the city Saturday and then went on to visit there daughter Merle (Mr. and Mrs. Bren Chugg) and family in Burley Idaho. Linda Keyser and boys and Bob Pace of Salt take visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lee and family this weekend. Also visiting Saturday was Jerry tae, Boyd Peterson, and Dallas Thacker all of Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Murphy and family also visited Tuesday enroule home from a 10 day vacation in Glacier Nat. I)eon Rhoades and Florence Turnbow went to Prove and into Salt take, Thursday of this week. Deon went to have her car checked out as they plan to leave soon to go to Illinois to see Mr. and Mrs. Duane Rhoades and family. They also went to see their new grandson, their first. Duane and wife have three little girls besides the new boy. They plan to visit Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rhoades who live in Nebraska while on the, trip. Mrs. Helen Toronto of Salt Lake, visited Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Turnbow and her mother Jane Davidosn this past - week. Mr. and Mrs. J.C.
