Max Hartman traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to visit with the Larry Hartman family and to attend the graduation exercises for Larry who rccieved his Ih. I), in Business Education. The Walker family returned by way of New Mexico and Texas where they saw many things of interest. They arrived home Sunday Evening. Edna Hartman flew to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she was met by her husband, Max, and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Jessen and Hobby. She participated in the exhabilkin riding with the Allamont Saddlettes who took part in the Rodeo there. They traveled through the Medicine Bow park in Wyoming and returned home on Monday. AH report having had a wonderful vacation. Mr. and Mrs. E. Max Hartman went to a temple session in Provo on Wednesday then on to Salt Lake City where they met Mrs. Laird M. Hartman and children of Missoula, Montana, who came for a visit with Laird's folks here. While in Salt Lake City they visilied with the Arthur E. Snow family. Visiting with Olives Miles during the week was a nephew, Lyn Ballard of Elcrado, Texas and a neice, Tessie Pow- - a Sathers Jewelry Stores era of Ogden, and 3 children. Mr. and Mrs. Dennie Ralphs, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Walker wnet to Salt Lake to the wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Don Gondfellow. She will be remembered as Ronnie Powell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Powell former Altonah residents. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dastrup took their Grandson Lorentz Lois, to meet his parents at Heber after spending a week with his Grandparents the Dastrups. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barton and family drove to Fairview over the weekend to the Hansen Reunion and brought their son Lloyd home after spending 2 weeks visiting his grandparents the Don Hansens and the Edward Bartons while he has been recovering from a broken arm. Patty Richards and Ellen and Lorna Markly called at the James Thacker home during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Potts spent the weekend visiting with thier parents Netti Potts and the Dennis Waymans. The Swasey Reunion was held at the Rodeo grounds on Saturday. Those from out of town were Ruth Jensen of Maroni, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rockwook, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Swasey. Chuck and Joyce Semken of San Diego, Calif, are here visiting their sis-' terp Norma Jessen and family and Beth Jessen and family. Nile Smith and son Jay of Syracuse, came for their mother Etta Smith over the weekend. She has spent 2 weeks at ther summer home. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Roper mote red to Provo on Saturday where they pickued up his motercycle and on to Provo where they brought them a new car. The Third ward float also won top honors in the church category. Award for best effort was given Basin Glass and Paint, for greatest originality to the Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce. Grand prize for the art show went to Leo Papoose with Wes Mecham second. Departmental awards went to Jean Hamblin, portraits; Joyce Bolton, photography and water color; Edna Hardinger, chalk; Jerry Harding, landscape; teen department, Calvin Roberts, and children's department, Cherlyn Hicks. Flower show winner was Isabelle Roberts with a miniature flower display. The pet show had good participation, with every pet given an award. Dolls and models were also entered by some 45 youngsters, with each entry receiving a prize. One of the new events which attracted a lot of attention this year was the motor bike races. Winners included Ron Young in the mini Enduro class; Dave Owens, 100 cc class; Dale Johnson, 125 cc; and Mike Hurley in both the 250 and 400 cc Other activities during the three-daevent included sky diving, story telling, eating, horseshow pitching, ball games, barbecue, reunions, competitive games and many many more.
