Show ( csroaacQSB '53!B5 GQ33D Myton Presbyterian Community Church held their regular service on July 11. Mr. Cay Lincoln of the Central Christian Church of Salt Lake conducted the service. Mr. Lincoln was accompanied by his wife and three children. Next Sunday will be a laymans service. Mr. Thomas Gentry will conduct the service. Many visitors from out of State were guests of the Dart homestead. Dinner was served on Saturday to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zorko of Ely, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Leigh and son and daughter and guest Cary Cash, Salt Lake; Arthur Leigh Sr., Reno, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zorko and daughters of Fort Collins, Colo.; Mr, and Mrs. Ray Deman, Mrs. Mildred Salvage, Mr. and Mrs. Cary Cummingham and son Brad, all from Denver, Colo. Mrs. Gladyes W. Dart went Into Salt Lake Monday with the Zorkos, spent the week as guest of the Lelghs. Mrs. Leigh and Mrs. Zorko are daughters of Mrs. Dart. Mrs. Dart returned home Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Gay Lincoln of Salt Lake. Mrs. Florence Johnson was accidently shot In the hip while traveling with the family at the head of Wolf Creek last week. She was taken to the University Hospital where she received treatment and was released after two days. She is now Among slowly recuperating at home. visitors at their home were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Allred and Mrs. Velma Abplanalp, of Rangely, Colo. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Crapo during the past few days were Mr. and Mrs. David Crapo and three children, SeatUe, Wash., they were also at the home of Mrs. Crapos parents, the Hollis Hulllngers of Roosevelt. Also the Crapes daughter Llima from Moses Lake, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Taylor from Ogden. Peterson has tendered her resignation to the Duchesne County Board of Education. Mrs. Peterson could have taught one mors year before retiring, but because of health reasons she has elected to retire at this time. In accepting her resignation the Board of Education expressed deep regret In loosing such an outstanding teacher. Mrs. Peterson has complied an enviable record of achievement In her teaching, having touched the lives of thousands of children during her years In the classroom. She began teaching In 1928 at Bluebell, then transferred to Neola In 1929 where she has taught for the remainder of her career. During her tenure at Neola, her students have always received excellent training and their achievement levels have been outstanding, It was reported. Superintendent Thomas J. Abplanalp stated that seldom has he seen such dedication, loyalty, and excellence In the teaching profession as Mrs. Peterson has displayed. He stated that It Is with great sadness and many, many thanks from the Board of Education, the children of the Neola attendance area, her colleagues, and the administration staff of the district, that her resignation was accepted. He stated that the greatest service that can be rendered In public work, "the training of the minds of children", has been rendered by Mrs. Peterson for many years In sn outstanding way. We all wish her well and sincerely hope she has many happy years ahead, said Supt. They report that It was a very lmpressl ve program and a large gathering. -Mr. and Mrs. Jack S. Mleure have a new baby duaghter born July 5 at the Duchesne County Hospital. -The Myton ward choir and musicians from Salt Lake, Roosevelt etc., are putting on a notorious musical at the big air conditioned new chapel In Myton the evening of July 24. This Is part of the Unlntah Basins big Pioneer program. The following scouts were In the canyon and took a long walk to Whlterocks caves last week. Afton Rlchens took them Wednesday and their scout master John Uresk joined them and helped them with their merit badges. Mr. and Mrs. John Uresk and Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Chandler attended the Kump reunion in Provo Canyon last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Wlllmer Murray just returned from Petaluma, Calif., where they visited their son and family the Jerry L. Murray's. They visited In Salt Lake way home at their daughters, Dr. and Mrs. John W. Tucber and son Darrell and family. Darrells son Jeffery came back to Myton with them. This weekend he returned home with his mother, his sister Jodi and his grandfather Mr. S. D. Butcher. on their Gary Poowegup, Jr. and James Curh put a cabinet to- gethcr during training at the LapoInt school. They are now training thin week at the area vocational school In1 Roosevelt ' ttfUipmCIIX Program underway to train UteFab workers A training program has been set up by the Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center and funded by the State of Utah to train personnel to fill the attrition and supervisory needs for UTEFAB. The seven week program is In Its 3rd week. The first two weeks were spent at the now vacant LapoInt elementary school where seven young men were trained to assemble pre-c- ut and pre- -f lnlshed cabinets. These are the same kind of cabinets which UTEFAB assembles on a one-da- y order and many have been sold In Gets dgree from U of W Marleta Arlene Roberts of Roosevelt received her BA In Social Studies education at the University of Wyoming where a total of 987 students received degrees at the close of the 1971 Spring Semester. While training the young men In the program will assemble 1500 cabinet units. They are received from Portland, Ore. and are completely finished except for Two of the supervisors are assembling. already employees at UTEFAB and are assisting In the training program. The art department from UTEFAB has also been moved to the LapoInt school to make more room for construction at the main plant. Enrolled In the training are Marcus re Colorow, James Cuch, Dennis Cuch, Manning, Garry Poowegup Jr., Danny Serawop and Everett Serawop. These have been working on a personal basis and have made up to 3 per hour while training.
