Each of the 12 students in the program received a box full of training materials which will cover the areas to be studied course. during the This la a pilot program sponsored by Ford Motor Company to assist In training mechanics as there la a demand for trained mechanics throughout the United States. At the present time six of the etudente have been assigned to work stations in local garages. Garth Sorenson, Instructor of the course, said that they were looking for additional training stations and anyone interested in hiring e student mechanic Is urged to contact Mr. Sorenson or the vocational center. The Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center was one of the four schools from throughout the nation picked to conduct the pilot training program. co-o- Mrs. Alice Summers will leave Thursday for Alameda, Calif., where she will visit with her daughter Lila Marten. Mrs. Renas Johnstun and children, Jessica and Tony are here visiting parents Mr. and Mrs. Byron Collett while Renaes husband Is out to sea. On Saturday they were in Vernal where they visited Mr, Colletts sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Snow and Mr. and Mrs. Adrain Raines. They also visited the Dinasaur National Monument and Museum. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Culley were In Boise, Ida., four days last week where they visited their sons, Raymond and Wayne Culley. and families. Another son, Don Culley who is home on leave from Hawaii, and his wife, Betty accompanied them. Raymond and his family came down over the weekend to visit. Mr. and Mrs. Acel Muse and family of Price, visited on Sunday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Stella Muse.
