Show Funeral services held for Elva M. Pace Funeral services were held Friday at a.m. In the Spanish Fork first ward chapel for Elva Mezenen Pace, 57, who died Nov. 3 In a Salt Lake hospital of a long Illness. She was born Nov. 19, 1913 In Daniels, Wasatch County, to John F. and Annie She married Ray Bancroft Mezenen, 1929 In Duchesne. Sept. 3, Pace, Phillip The marriage was later solemnized In the Mantl LDS Temple. She was a member of the Sixth Ward, member of the Stake Primary Board, served In Sunday School, Primary, was a dental assistant. She was educated In Wasatch County and Duchesne schools. Bench Funeral services were held Saturday at high school and was an LDS Seminary graduate. He was an active member of the LDS Church holding the office of a p.m. In the Roosevelt Second Ward chapel for Devere lane Bench, 18. He suffered a stroke on BYU campus Tuesday, Nov. 3 and was rushed to the LDS hospital In Salt lake where he died Nov. 4. He was born Jan. 8, 1952 in Logan to Reid D. and Alta M. Klrts Bench. He attended schools In Provo, Orem, Sprlng-vll- le and Roosevelt. An outstanding scholar he was a National Merit scholarship finalist; rated 99.9 on the ACT test and was a David 0 McKay scholarship finalist. 1 Priest. He married Arva Mary Hamblin June County. 1970 In Montwel, Duchesne Survivors include his widow, Roosevelt; parents, Roosevelt; brothers and sisters, Darda, Relda, Nancy, Karla, and Bradley, all Roosevelt; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard F, Klrts, Sutherland, Neb.; Mrs. Lenora Bench, Orem. Burial was in the Roosevelt city ceme4, Jean Walker of San Francisco were weekend guests at the home of Mrs. Grace Dalglelsh, While here they also visited Mrs. Gladyes Dart and other members of the Dart family. Mrs. Walker and Jean are former residents of Myton and Mrs. Walker Is a sister in law of Mrs. Dalglelsh and Mrs. Dart. While Jean Is a niece of the two Myton resident. They made their home in Salt Lake for many years but Mrs. Walker Is now moving to San Francisco to reside with her daughter While here they attended services at the Myton Presbyterian Church where they were greeted by a host of old friends who knew them when they were residents here. Members of the Ladles Aid were busy Monday at the Church as they prepared another lovely quilt which the busy group quilted during the day and also enjoyed a delicious dinner at the noon hour, Services Sunday were brought to Myton Presbyterian Church by Mr. Gay Lincoln who spoke on Discipline, Special music a violin solo was rendered by Mrs. Robert E. George, Duchesne accompanied by Mrs. Dart, Alter flowers were sent by Mrs. Ruth Leigh In memorlam for Mr. Orville Dart and Mr. William Dart. The state theme Is "Build for a better environment and the district has selected as Its theme "Key to a better home, environment, community and government. Burtenshaw, of Utah State University, spoke on the subject of Womens Freedom, he pointed out the fact that the new society Is changing the model of womanhood from being Just a homemaker to the roll of being whatever she wants to be. He- explained some of the stands being taken by the women's liberation movement and he admonished those present to remember that feminity nhould always Iw maintained. Two were Injured In an automobile accident Tuesday about 5 a.m. when the car In which they were riding crossed Highway 40 at the Lapolnt Junction, went Into a canal and burned. Boyd Che gup, 24 and Kathleen Tabbee, 25, were taken to the Hilltop cafe and later transferred to the Duchesne County hospital at Roosevelt. The car was registered to Amelia Serawop but she was not a passenger In the car at the time. The accident was being Investigated by Pete Pickup of the Tribal police department and Leonard Ferguson of the Utah November 5, school food service workers at Duchesne Elementary school gave a party for Mrs. Nellie Harris who Is moving to Vernal to make her home. They were joined by the teachers and principal, Leo Foy. A lovely gift was presented to Mrs. Harris and flowers and cards of good will.
