Officers Uintah Basin Riders elect new officers The last meeting of the season for the Uintah Basin Riders was held Nov. 2, at the home of Pat Patry, Roosevelt. The business meeting was conducted by Lorraine Fllllnglm, president. Officers for the coming year were elected as follows; Lorraine Fllllnglm, president; FranVaLoy Campbell, clne Fenn, secretary and treasurer, Jan Edgerton, Drill Mistress; Billy Miller, Gymkhana director; and Diane Duncan, social director. Achievement trophies were presented to each girl with Jan Edgerton receiving the "Outstanding Member" trophy. Gymkhana trophies were awarded to Lorna Davis, Roosevelt tor best pole horse; Billie Miller, Roosevelt and Elaine Pike, Myton for best Keyhole horse; and Glenda Gurr, Myton for best barrel horse. Plans are being made for the coming years events. Outgoing officers are Elaine Pike, vice president; Celia Rlchens, secretary and treasurer and Pat Patry, nt; Gymkhana director. Church bazaar Friday Roosevelt BPW Club The Roosevelt Business and Professional Women's Club met at the Frontier Grill Monday. President Vena Houtz, conducted the meeting. Guests were Myrth Gardner, Mable Curley and Violet Parriette. Lori Gardner sang and accompanied herself on the guitar. Guest speaker was George Stewart who gave a talk on Ouray, the cross roads of the early west. The program was under the direction of the World Affairs chairman, Erma Stewart and committee members Adelyn Logan, Vlrgle Murphy and Irene Cuch. Mrs. Logan read a letter received about the Equal Rights Ammendment and the voting record of the Senators concerning this bill. It was urged that all working women write to their Senators and encourage them to support this bill, Just as It was passed by the House of Representatives and not add a group of additional ammendments. A writing contest for the Christmas Holiday was discussed and arrangements were to be Investigated Into this possibility with prizes to be awarded. The Roosevelt Ward Relief Society will their annual bazaar and banquet Friday, Nov. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Ward cultural hall. A delicious ham dinner will be served and handmade and home cooked articles will be on sale. The lesson was given by Mrs. Witnesses to attend circuit convention ' Jehovahs Witnesses In the Roosevelt area will be traveling to Salt Lake City, for their next circuit convention, November 27 to 29, at the South semi-annu- al high school auditorium. He Is from Ploche, Nev, He graduated from the deaf school at Ogden. , Mrs. Moss, Salt Lake, visited at the Ballard Sunday School this Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Collins, Salt Lake were visiting at the Ernest Betts home and at friends for the weekend. Also taking advantage of the pheasant hunt. Mrs. Stanley Womack has been a substitute cook at the Todd school lunch kitchen for some of the ladles who have been 1U this past week. Third Ward bazaar in Roosevelt "Your GMC Headquarters for the Basin!'1 The Roosevelt Third Ward Bazaar will be held Friday, Nov. 13 with a ham dinner and sale of bazaar items at 8 p.m. There will be movies for the children. Sue Ann Betts, Paul Squire betrothed sented. Neola Bridge Club Mr. and Mrs. Grant C. Betts announce marthe engagement and forth-comiriage of their daughter, Sue Ann, to Paul C. Squire, son of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Squire of Roosevelt. The prospective bride Is a graduate of Union high school, Is a four year Seminary graduate, and obtained a degree at Stevens Henager college In Executive Secretarial and Business Accounting. The past year she has been employed by the Ute Fabricating Co. In Fort Duchesne. Mr. Squire graduated from Union high school with the class of 1967 and was a four year Seminary graduate. He served In the North British Mission and Is at present attending the UBCCE. A December 11 wedding Is being planned.
