Letters should be signed, and if de- sired to appear under another name, that should be designated. Editor the Citizen: Hooray ! Ive bumped oyer that road to airport myself more than once, and I certainly was glad to have you take an editorial whack at it last Saturday. I certainly think that it is a re- flection on the citizens of the city as much as it is on the public officials themselves that the road has Miss Anne Goodman apparently believes that tending furnace is not even a dusty task any more, as witness her activities aided by modern convenience. No daily dozen to feeding the furnace any more ! As a matter of fact, the young lady in the picture above is proving that the paper bag is not relegated to the scrap heap. Now that peanuts are outlawed from the 0r paper sack and candy is boxed instead of sacked, and soda crackers come in cartons, the paper sack has been somewhat of a declining article. But trust the coal man a revive him! Heres a dainty miss feeding the fire in the most approved manner at the Utah Coal Burning President Hoover now has his cab- inet completed. Editor The Citizen: I certainly am disgusted as a citizen of Salt Lake at the wholesale display of dishonesty, buck passing and what not that has appeared down at the City and County Building. Im just about ready to deny my allegiance to the city and move away, either to a smaller or larger city, where I can be certain that the taxes I pay will be administered for the good of the people. This graft, or whatever you call it, is not good for the city. Why not urge upon the city commission the passage of a law calling for complete audits of all accounts every year? And then pass this law to the county and state departments as well. . O. A. |
