Show THE CITIZEN lies and prevents for the time being two lovers marrying. It is comedy all the way through with Lew Cody and Aileen Pringle taking the leads and supported by an excellent cast of screen stars. The story shows how easy people can be estranged by a pet animal, all of which borders on the ridiculous. It is a good story and is well filmed. The Littlejohns, in the art of exquisite beauty jugglers on rolling globes, borders on the sensational when razor sharp axes and butcher knives are juggled perfectly. A pretty miss does an Egyptian dance with grace and ease. The costuming, all stage paraphernalia and even the curtain, are profusedly decorated with Rhinestones, rendering a very brilliant effect to the act. The Four Caddies present an original act all of their own and they get by with big applause. They are good singers, one j exceptional step dancer, and their singing is very pleasing and greatly appreciated. They are real PANTAGES PRESENTS BIG COMEDY SHOW FOR WEEK Talking Pictures Next LAUGH UNTIL you are sick, is heard on all sides in speaking of the Pantages show this week. Alexandria and Olsen in vaudevilles dynamos of laughter, present a lengthy comedy act in the most original manner and all their jokes are new and not of the pioneer order. This act is snappy, full of ginger and hilarious comedy and is easily one of the big feature acts of the entire show. Interpolated with their jokes and story telling is Some buck dancing by a negro, xylophone playing, a mind reader, together with thrills galore. The act segregated would ordinarily provide an entire vaudeville bill. The feature screen offering for the week is The Baby Cyclone in which a pet dog nearly separates two fami entertainers. L. W. Zimmerman presents Henry : ! : Rogers Revue in a polite offering with FlorineJ . The act is set in a parlor where two couples entertain with music, song jand steps. An acrobatic dance by a graceful girl is a feature. A duet step dance without music by a boy and girl makes a hit. They also give the prison garb dance in which 7 the two are shackled. torious act. Winona It is a meri- an attractive blonde, is a clever artiste in many ways. Her rendition of Broadway, the pathway of tears, and her impersonations of the innocent girl who aspires to be an actress is appealing and appreciated and presented in a most realistic manner. There is the Bowery girl, and the cocktail girl who tires of jazz and becomes the faded rose; then the chorus girl who finds that after the dance is done and the song is sung she is about through Winters, with this worldly life. She winds up with a feature ventriloquist act. There is a good moral in this act. Starting next Wednesday, the PantImproveages screen will speak. ments for the entertainment of the people come so fast that theatres these days keep hopping to keep up with the times. The screen, which heretofore has been for the eye only, now will speak, laugh, cheer and sing. The feature picture for this will be The Melody of Love, which is the first 100 per cent talking and singing picture for the Pantages, and which is acclaimed by critics to be the finest entertainment presented during the present year. PLAYHOUSE There is already tremendous interest ..locally in the coming performances of the Anne Nichols wonder play Abies Irish Rose, by the Metropolitan Players at the Playhouse. Theatre goers who have not seen this history-makin- g comedy-dram- a before are naturally delighted at the opportunity to see the play at all; and those who have already seen it elsewhere, or as played by a road com- -- GLADYS GEORGE At the Playhouse pany, are delighted at the prospect of seeing the play acted by members of a stock company. Manager Clogston has announced that, in spite of the marked additional expense of producing the play, he will make no increase in the regular price at the theatre. He is giving an opportunity to see Abie's Irish Rose at popular stock rates. ' ARTHUR LOFT At the Playhouse Henry Rogers Revue now playing Pantages As indicative of the interest that Abies Irish Rose has aroused, and to show that thousands of people have seen it at least twice, there were eight companies playing to capacity business on the road while the comedy-drama was at the height of its run in New York.
