Show THE CITIZEN 10 to have two deputies in his department and has appointed Walter A. Day, who will have charge of the tax department; and Earl T. Millham, who will have charge of the tax roll redemption department. This arrangement is proposed because each department consists of work of a particular kind and not common to both, and both departments will be under the personal supervision of Mr. Judd. W. T. Guest and Leonard Mackay, of the county, have been named for permanent positions and the treasurer will make another county appointment later on. There will be some other changes later on. Judd believes in a force will remain about the same. His task is to wrestle with the expenditures and receipts of the various county offices, and to keep strict account of the peoples money that is paid in for taxes and other accounts. Sullivan has proved an efficient man in the office. John P. Emery will be retained as chief deputy, and G. S. Arnold as chief accountant. T. L. Brown succeeds Mrs. A. H. Hiatt who was elected county recorder. James Wells succeeds James Stull as tax statistician. Mr. Sullivan says that the policy of the office will be the same as heretofore, a desire to serve well the public, County Commissioner Rulon H. Kelly is a well known young attorney and he ought to give the county an ideal administration. In naming Smith he has made a very good start. George T. Judd, who was elected county treasurer, has been active in politics for the past twenty-fiv- e years and has always been held in high esteem by all who know him, and there is no doubt that the office of county treasurer will be conducted in a business way. Judd has several reforms, which if instituted in the county offices will save the taxpayers at least $75,000 and such a sum is worth going after. Judd will only make a few changes in the treasurer's office. Instead of appointing a chief deputy, he proposes - Captain Recorder Mrs. Aurora Hiatt dence in her successful administration of the office during her term. So far she has made no changes or appointments, leaving the future to decide for an efficient office force. James II. Sullivan, county auditor, succeeded himself in office and his Surveyor Jos.
