Schettler is an expert in criminology, has a level head and adds great force to the department. Frank Gardner, former businessman of this city, well known and well thought of by all who know him, has been placed in charge of the office and we are confident he will be a success in his place. Sheriff Patten says now that the election is over as well as the political fight, he has become a servant of the people and he wants everybody to feel that he will do the best he can to protect the property and the rights of the citizens regardless of their political or religious beliefs and that he and his entire force will cooperate in every possible way with the law abid- - of Clarence Cowan, former clerk, and is well acquainted with all the details of his department, and under his guidance and experienced hand, there is no doubt that the clerks office will continue to give as good service as was had under the administration of Cowan. Mackay has appointed Fred C. Bassett as his chief deputy. William H. Stenacher is chairman of the board of county commissioners. He is the hold over commissioner and will retain his own department as commissioner of public health. He is not flee, recently left by M. L. Cummings. Charles W. Lawrence has been made chief deputy. Lawrence is well known and has a host of friends. E. W. . Evans is retained and is working as assistant to Mr. Lawrence. Thomas H. Cartwright is cashier. Jesse T. Cannon, late with the Federal government, is the new mining deputy. Sam Assessor Joseph H. Preece Galeazzi is named collector for automobiles; M. C. Turner, Louis Hahn are also in the auto department. Louis Hoagland is appraiser of buildings. Fred Miner is clerk of the rolls. Ida Williams is also a clerk on the rolls, and Kathleen Sexton is the steno- grapher. Reuben T. Dahlquist was elected to term and has been placthe four-yea- r ed in charge of roads and bridges. Mr. Dahlquist has named Chloe Dean as his secretary, and appointed Le Roy County Commissioner William H. Alonzo Mackay, the new county clerk, is a young man of vast experience in his office, and comes from a Republican family who have been hard workers in the party ever since its inception. Mackay has een an employe making any changes in his department and will continue to conduct the department with the same efficiency as in the past. He has two more years to serve the people. J. II. Preece, our present county assessor, is well known to the people of this county because of his past political services. He promises the people a fair and just assessment of property in the county. There has been nearly a complete turnover in his of-. County Commissioner Reuben T. Dahlquist Barrett as his shop foreman. Dahlquist says that lie will try to turn all the bad roads in the county into ideal auto roads and is assembling his forces with that point in view. |
