Delta Tourney Wasatch at Heber Senator Gam to be guest of Sportsman club The Duchesne County Sportsman Club today announced the visit of U. S. Senator E. J. Jake" Garn. The Senator will be the keynote speaker at the Clubs annual dinner-ba- r beque in February. Present along .with the Senator will be Bud Phelps Director of the State Division of Wildlife Resources. The public is cordially invited and the Club feds that this will be a good opportunity for people to become acquainted with the Senator and Mr. Phelps. Admission will be by advanced tickets only. Tickets will be sold by all Club Members or may be picked up at Murray Motor or Jakes Barber Shop in Roosevelt. The menu will be beef with all the trimmings. Price of the tickets will be $8 per couple or $5 for a single ticket The dinner will be held Saturday, February 14, at 7 p.m. at the new East Elementary School in Roosevelt Everyone is invited to attend. rwriw BfCaRaRMmi , Mr. and Mrs. Ogden, came for the weekend to visit with Mrs. Kackas mother, Welthea Young, and her sister, the Morris Spence family. e Frank Adams and Lloyd Lewis took their fatbeef on Saturday to the sale at Spanish Fork. They hired Bill Cox to help them haul the beef to market Lila Gentry returned home Saturday, after having spent a month in Kaysville and Roy, Utah with her children and families. She also kept a doctor appointment while there. e Dallas Murray is making plans for a Livestock Club. Interested boys and girls should call him and make arrangements for early enrollment e Mr. and Mrs. Franjt Adams took a trip to Tooele during the week, where they visited their niece, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Reed. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lewis made a business trip to Price and Salt Lake City last weekend. Denise Hardinger returned to school with the Monday after being house-boun- d mumps. Gabe Kellum was chosen to be the new Myton City Water Master at the last City Council meeting. He replaces Ralph Ivie who retired a few weeks ago. The Van Soolen family moved from the Granger area to a home five milIk east of Duchesne recently. Ira Hatch, who formerly resided in Duchesne and worked as assistant district ranger and in the range management program of the Duchesne District of the Ashley National Forest, was visiting friends and forest personnel in Duchesne this week; Mr. Hatch is assigned now as ranger on the Price District of the Manti-LaSNational Forest, and resides with his wife, Elaine, and children in Castle Dale. Bruce Jensen, former conservation officer at Duchesne for the Utah Fish and Game Dept., is now employed in the mining industry. He resides at Castle Dale with his wife, Maxine, and family. e Kimberly Allred was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Allred, January 9. Dr. Buxton delivered Kimberly at 6 lbs. 15 oz. and 20 inches long. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hoffman traveled to Parawon Friday evening to watch their son, Mitch, wrestle in a tournament held at the high school. Bell was elected to the position of of Utah State Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber of Commerce leadership meeting held recently in Salt Lake City. vice-preside- Paula 0. Bell was elected to the elect of the position of Utah State Chamber of Commerce at the recent Utah State Chamber of Commerce Leadership Seminar and Annual meeting held at Hotel Utah on January 9 and 10. Paula is the Executive of the Roosevelt Area Chamber of Commerce and has served in that capacity for the past two and one-ha- lf years. She is the first Executive Vice President to serve the Roosevelt Area Chamber of Commerce. Prior to being hired to this position by the Board of Directors in 1973 she had affiliated with the Chamber as a member of the Board of Directors and served as treasurer and membership chairman. She served as State Program of Work Chairman for the State Chamber in 1975 and has been active in that organization. Paula will be the first woman ever to serve in this capacity in the State Vernal, Vice-Preside- nt Tabiona. AHS home living class teaches nursery school The Altamont Home Living Class, recently held a nursery school class, in the morning from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The eight students who sponsored it were: Leslie Ames, Margaret Palmer, Robin Mathews, Miles, pam Watkins, Linda Daniels, Kim Goodrich and Barbara Hankey. These students were excused from their class' for 3 days while taking care of the nursery school. There were about 20 children who attended; The children were ; taught eVelM things, suctraa using tHe rfidfe of touch, taste, see, hear and smell. They also learned how to jump on the trampoline, sing songs, they had a learning experience with play dough, stringing macaroni on string, sharing time and many other things. They were given refreshments everyday. The home living instructor is Mrs. Joylynn Benson. Chamber of Commerce and in 1977 as she takes over as President of the State Chamber, she will reportedly be the only female State Chamber of Commerce President in the U.
