The four teams will participate in two separate leagues, with Union in Class AA, and Duchesne, Altamont and Tabiona in Class A. In Class A competition, Altamont will travel to Duchesne for the opening round, and Tabiona goes to Green River. The following week Tabiona again travels, going to East Carbon, while Altamont entertains Monticello and Duchesne hosts Green River. Union will begin their season in Class AA with a home stand hosting Morgan. In the first round of play, Union will play three of their four games at home, while they have six wins and two losses to date, giving them good position as they enter the regular season. They will square off against Duchesne in the opening, and should test the relative strength of the two teams. Duchesne will enter the opener with a losing record, having dropped some tough encounters in close games. They schehave played as strong dule, meeting several AA schools, and the coach feels the young team is developing and should improve with the season. Reports from Tabiona indicate that the Tigers will again be in the running in league play. After having a slow season last year, .Tabiona haa built a strong for the 1976 contest, having won two of n the three encounters reported in play. unofficial count, the time around will put them on the road three out of four. Next week Union will host Wasatch, then they travel to Grantsville for a game, then back here to host Intermountain. Union enters league play with an unofficial 6 wins 1 loss record for n encounters. According to Coach Patterton, the team is developing well, and should continue to improve as they move into the regulation play. The first two games will probably be the toughest, the coach added, since Morgan and Wasatch are rated to be the top teams in the region. Altamont has also had a winning schedule.
