Show 4 STANDARD-Jonu- ory 1. 1976 I Couple to honor 50th wedding anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Marrell F. Wilkins will honor their SOlh wedding anniversary January 1, 1976. They were married January 1, 1926 in Duchesne by Bishop sleeves gathered at the wrist. She wore a fingertip veil, with a wide band of matching embroidered lace, and carried a bouquet of yellow rosebuds and white orchids, with white lace streamers. Catherine Clark, of Bountiful and a cousin of the bride served as Maid of honor. She was dressed in a yellow erepe princess style dress with an empire waistline and carried a bouquet of yellow rosebuds with white lace streamers. The mother of the bride was dressed in a two piece jersey, floor length gown, with yellow accessories and a yellow rosebud corsage. The groom's mother was dressed in a green crepe, floor length gown with yellow rosebud corsage. Mark Douglas of Ogden served the groom as best man. Roy Robinson of Bountiful was an usher. The wedding cake waa three tiers high, frosted white, and trimmed in yellow rosebuds, green leaves and topped with a white lace wedding bell. Mrs. David Kynaston, a sister of the bride presided over the refreshment table which was covered with an heirloom, white lace cloth. Yellow rosebuds and white mums with yellow tapers decorated the dining room, and Mrs. Glendon Rhoades and Mrs. Mark Stewart were in charge of serving. Acting as hostess was Mrs. Ronald Fenn, a sister of the bride, and also Mrs. Fred Goodhue Billings. Marrell moved to the Basin in 1907, with his parents and has spent his life here. He served in the service for a while in 1918, and on his return, went into the store business, with his father, Elroy wilkins, the date was January 1, 1919, and he worked in the storek with other members of the family until the business sold in September of 1963. The store was the former Cash Meat Market. Marrell served four years on the City Council, he is a charter member of the Lions Club, Charter member of the American Legion Post 64, a member for 49 consecutive years, serving as Commander and holding other offices. He has been an officer in the Roosevelt Fish and Game club and is a member of the Duchesne County Sportsman Club. He has also been a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Marrell has been active in the LDS Church, holding the office of secretary of the Elders Quorum, Sunday School, Secretary, High Priest secretary and assistant Ward Clerk. Mrs. Annabelle Wilkins was born and raised in Park City, moving to the area in teh early 1920's. She has been an active church worker holding positions in both Relief Society and Primary. During World War II she served five years in the Red Cross and received a Citation frofm Represenatative Granger for her Red Cross work. The wilkins have one daughter, Sandra, and three grandchildren, living in California. The family have not planned an open house, due to the illness of Mrs. Wilkins. - The former Laurie B. LOCAL COUPLE HOME RITES UNITES COUPLE NOVEMBER The former Laurie B. Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mra- - Nathan D. Allen of Roosevelt, became the bride of Nick Ray Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald L. Davis of Layton, on November 22, at the home of the bride's parents in Roosevelt, during a double ring ceremony. The couple were married by Bishop Duane Olsen. November 22, following the wedding WILL MARRY ,, Elaine Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jones, of Tabiona, has announced her engagement and forthcoming marriage plans to Dave Curry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Curry, of Hannah. Elaine is a 1974 graduate of Tabiona high school where she was active in the drill team and as a cheerleader. Dave graduated from Tabiona in 1973, and was active in basketball track and cross country. He is presently employed by Duane Hall Trucking. The couple plan a January 31, wedding in the Tabiona Ward Chapel A reception will follow the ceremony, in the cultural hall. The couple plan on making their home in Tabiona. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Sorenson, Roosevelt, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ruth Jean Sorenson to Jerry Bruce Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Anderson also of Roosevelt. Bruce is a 1971 graduate of Union high school, and served in the U. S. Navy. Ruth is a Senior this year, at Union, and will graduate in May. The couple have set Jan. 22, as their wedding day.
