Miss Thompsen, a senior art and history-politicscience major, at Culver, Stockton College in Missouri, serves as president of student parliament. She also was of McDonald Hall residency, played in the college's Symphonic Wind Ensemble and has had her art work displayed in several exhibits in the college's galleries. Miss Thompsen is a 1971 graduate of Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Mac Nyberg has just returned from spending the holidays in Farmington, New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. David Jenkins and Mr. Prince spent Sunday in Vernal visiting with their daughter, Alice Clerico. Floyd Angus has been in the Dee Hospital in Ogden. He has returned Mr. Jay Pope has returned from Panama where he has been stationed in the army for the past year. While in the canal zone Jay picked up a rare disease and was sent to the veterans hospital in Denver. His wife and family have moved to Denver also where they will stay until he is able to leave. Mrs. Georgia Thompson has been in the hospital, bit is home now and doing well. Her grandson Mr. and Mrs. Chip Larsen have been visiting with her. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pope from Roosevelt have been visiting in Lapoint with Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Whitehead, Mr. and Mrs. Arza Pope and friends. Dale Nyberg and Chris Walker have been spending the weekend with their parents. Both boys have been attending the BYU Trade Tech in Provo. e Several girls from the Lapoint area went to Altamont Saturday night to attend the basketball game between Union high school and Altamont high. The girls included Cindy Warburton, Laurie Green, Keeta Mansfield, Arlene Mecham and Peggy Helquist . from Whiterocks. Speakers in meeting Sunday night were Cindy Warburton, Mae Warburton, Earl Warburton and Nyle Warburton. The musical number was a song by Mrs. Carol Betts from Ballard Ward. Her husband Junior Betts and small daughter were at the meeting also. Mrs. Betts was accompanied by Elizabeth Esplin. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Matthews returned home after Christmas holidays spent in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Oaks from Vernal spent an afternoon at the Golden Winns. Bishop Stule will start his new job on Monday.
