Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Eldrcdge attended the Western Livestock show in Denver Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rasmussen traveled as far as Denver with them and then look the plane to Dallas and San Antonio Texas to visit with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ross went to Trcmonton Jan. 18 for the marriage of their (laughter, Orlene La bruin to Robert Whyte of Longmont Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Iirown have moved from Memphis Tenn. to Pleasant Valiev. He will manage the Ross Itrothers Feed and Seed. Mrs. Rill Sanders, Mrs. Merlyn Reynolds and son, Tony are spending a few days in Salt Lake. Visiting with Dieia Emmett and helping her celebrate her birthday was a niece, Mrs. Josephine Diamanti, her two daughters and a grandson and Gary Prato of Salt Lake and Mr. Earnest I.'nt orman of Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Iaimur Nielson traveled to Provo to visit Mrs. Reed Stansfield, a sister of Mr. N'elson who is in the hospital. Mothers Club The Duchesne Mother's Club met on Thursday evening, Jan. 16 at the home of for the evening Vicky Smith. was Kerry Frandsen. A program on interior decoration was given by interior designer, Karen Bunnell. A dessert luncheon was served to 22 members. Community Club Neola Community Club was held last Thursday at the home of Maxine Dunran. They elected new officers for the year. JoAnn Bastian, President. Hattie Jensen, Cheryl Broadhead, secretary, treasurer, and Maxine Duncan, reporter. They also drew secret club pals for the coming year. Ken Mecham, social science and history teacher at Union high school showed slides on his travels through Europe and other interesting places. It was decided at the meeting that as a community project $50 would be donated to have a picnic table made for the park. A pledge of $25 was also made to the March of Dimes. One of the first projects in the fall was the planting of Iris at Bottle Hollow. Vona Houtz was named Woman of the Year. Vona is one of the officers in the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The club presented $50 to Smiley Denver, the commander of the search and rescue patrol, in recognition of the services to the community. We are a very intesting and community minded club. All members were present and a dessert was served. Couple to serve LDS mission Altrus Club Altrus Club was held at the home of Lois Betts Jan. 9 with Marjorie Harrison as A molded salad with shrimp dressing, hot rolls and a hot spiced drink was served to the 16 members and one guest present. Diane Buxton and Beth Duke were accepted into the club as new members. The book entitled All Things Bright and Beautiful by James Herriot was presented by Ruth Allen. Altrus members will meet again this week, Jan. 23, at the home of Fawn Leavitt. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert McKenna were called and accepted a mission to the Arizona-Hollbroo- k mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He has served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, to the southwest indian mission, and has attended Brigham Young in University. He is presently employed the Duchesne area. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Evans and Mr. and Mrs. Fay Miles were in Denver last week on business. Brian Loertscher flew to Montana last week to bring his wife and four children here to be with him. He has employment here. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Hansen drove to Elsinore to attend the funeral services of a relative. The Grant Hansen's were scheduled to accompany their son Gary and his wife, and fly to Hawaii for a vacation. Mrs. Grant Hansen recently returned home from Provo, where she had been assisting in the home of her daughter, Merrilee Boyce who had just had a baby girl. This makes two daughters for the Boyce's. Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Seeley spent the weekend in Logan. Enroute home they brought Kirk's grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Goodrich home with them for a visit here with family members. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Milan of Salt Lake City visited here over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Potts. Other family members visiting on Sunday with the Potts were Mr. and Mrs. A1 Potts and family and the Clayburn families. 21 members in all enjoyed a family Mr. and Mrs. Dal Seeley and family visited on Friday and Saturday here with the Lee Angus family in Ballard and the Wallace Seeley family in Bluebell. Persian Proverb Mrs. Lea Vasten Keith and Beth Duke and family, Roosevelt, spent Sunday evening visiting with Mrs. Helen Odekirk. Mrs. Helen Odekirk hosted the elderly citizens of the family home evening group at a pot luck dinner on Monday afternoon. The group met to honor those having birthdays during the month of January. There will be a winter pilot seminar at the Duchesne Municipal Airport Terminal. The seminar will be on Thursday evening, Jan. 23, and will begin at 7:30 Some of the features at the seminar will be verdigo and sensory illusions and winter flying and winter maintenance operations. All pilots, student pilots, and other interested persons are invited to P-- attend. There will be a PTA Meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23. at 7:30 p.m. at the Duchesne e Elementary Room. Program for the evening will be given by the Duchesne Sheriffs Office and the topic will be Drug Abuse". Don't foget to round up your old eyeglasses that may be tucked away in a drawer. The Duchesne Lions Club is conducting a drive to obtain old eyeglasses for their Sight Conservation Program. Collection boxes are posted at Kohls Market, the schools and Zions Bank. Any glasses collected will be appreciated very much by the Lions Club and persons receiving these glasses.
