"The poster contest is open to all children in the Duchesne Elementary School," noted Merrilee Caldwell, Chairwoman of the Poster Contest. Prizes will be awarded for the most original, most humorous, most artistic, and most creative posters. Kohl's Market will donate a 3 by 5 foot American Flag to the Grand Prize Winner. According to PTA president Velma Giles, the "Back to School Night" and PTA meeting held Thursday, Oct. 3, was a huge success. Mrs. Giles and elementary school principal Leo Foy both expressed how pleased they were at the attendance of the night by the parents. On October 3, 10 ladies spent the afternoon with Orinda Gee where the ladies spent some time quilting. Mrs. Gee entertained the ladies with a luncheon. Company Major Richard B. On Saturday, he motored to Duchesne to visit his mother and father in law, Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Buckalew. Richard is married to the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Buckalew, the former Elaine Buckalew. Friday, October 25, school pictures will be taken at the elementary school in Duchesne. Parents of the school children are asked to be aware of this date in that they may dress their chidren especially fur the occasion. Parents of children are invited to bring their children to have their pictures taken also, beginning at 2 p.m. If you like to play bridge, there is an afternoon bridge club in Duchesne and it is in need of additional members to play.
