BOl NTIFUL Mooie of Bountiful, recently Delbert Jay Cook Delbert KAYSVILLE Jay Cook, 93, passed away Sept. 10, 1996. He was born Aug. 31, 1903 in Milo, Idaho the son of Thomas Simpson and Rebecca Ford Cook. He married Beulah Parrish July 16, the in 1925 LDS Temple. She preceded him Logan in death Oct. 24, 1985. Delbert and his wife served two LDS missions. West Central States and Colorado Denver Mission and was active in the church throughout his life. He made his livelihood as a rancher and a Realtor. He is survived by four sons and four daughters: T. Joel (Jenice), Rigby, ID; David. Missoula. MT: Melvin (Kathy), Stevensville, MT. Glen, Houston, TX; Ireta (Donald) Ellis, Rigby, ID Barbara (Wayne) Rine, Las Vegas, NV: Della (Harold) Scott, Centerville and Emma Cook of West Bountiful. 43 grandchildren 89 great giandchildren and one great great grandchild Preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, a son. Wesley, a grandson Brandon Cook and great grandson Jeramiah Boweutt. Delbert d is the second of nine children, only by one brother, Don F. Cook of Shelly, Idaho. A viewing will be held Friday. Sept. 13 at the Lindquist's Bountilu! Sandee Larson Cotter Sandee Larson BOUNTIFUL Cotter, beloved w ife. daughter, mother, sister and friend returned to her Heavenly Father, September 10, Born 1996. January 22, 1955 to Doris Spencer and Dennis E. Larson in Ogden, Utah. She attend- Heavenly Father in the way that she would have wanted Sandee had an innate lalent to make people feel good. She had a talent ot bnnging out the best in everyone with whom she came in contact. She had a passion of making her house a home through the use ol her love, artistic ability and talent. She is survived by her husband. Dean and their three daughters. ed Weber State University and Tiffany. Melanie and Brixike. parents. Dennis and Doris Larson; her twin received her nurs- ing certificate from Boise State University. She married Dean A. Cotter, February 26, 1977, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, for time and all eternity. Sandee was an active member of the LDS Church. She served faithfully in the Young Women's, sister sister Cindee Larson-AlieCandy Nichols and brother Rick Larson. A short tribute to Sandee's life will :30 on Friday. Heavenly on Born - February 1913 1 , in Hutchinson County, South Dakota to Adolph and Maria Gellner Reich. He married Caroline Etta Lpnore Ahlstrom in the Oakland LDS Temple on April 10, 1965. He was a High Priest in the Bountiful 27th Ward. He served in World War II in the 64th Artillery Battalion He enjoyed fainting, and carpentry He is survived hy his wife Lenore. sons, Troy and Barry Reich. He taught high school at South High in Salt Lake City for part of a year in 1956 and served three years in the U.S. Army at Ft. Devens. Mass . before beginning his health-catcaieei at Primary Childien s Hospital in Salt Lake City in 1959 wiieie he held positions of business manager and assistant administrator. At age 27. Moore was appointed administrator at South Davis Community Hospital (SDCH) in Bountiful where he worked with the local hospital board and medical staff for about 15 years. During Moore's administration SDCH doubled in sue fiom 40 to 80 beds and numerous services the 17 were added. He member Davis County Hospital Advisory Committee during the late 1960's and early I970's and vvoiked with the local hospital board, medical staff in north and south Dav is County. He worked with the Davis County Commission and assisted in bunging new hospitals to Bountiful and Layton to serve the ever growing population in Davis multi-hospit- e County. Moore was appointed administrator and board chairman of the new Lakeview Hospital operated hy Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) on Aug. I. 1976 and functioned in that capacity until the end of 1980 On Jan 1, 1981. HCA promot- ed Moore to Regional Vice President of the Salt Lake City Division with operational responsibilities over 15 hospital in six states (including Lakeview and five oilier LHah hospitals). He continued in this position until June 30. 1987. In 1987. HealthTrust, Inc. was formed as about 100 hospitals to a owned by HCA were spun-of- f company called Health Trust Ine. including Lakeview and five other Utah HCA hospitals. Six of HC'A's 2 division offices were shut down and on July I, 1987 he returned to Lakeview and served as adminis- trator and board chairman until Feb. 28. 1991. Since March I. 1991 he has been director of public afluus for Health Tiust, Inc. - Utah Division until recent retirement Local civic involvement has kepi Moore busy outside the professional responsibilities, as he has served two terms as president and board member of the Bountiful Area Chamber of Commerce, president, campaign chairman, executive, and board member of United Way of Davis County, member of the Bountiful City Council, board member of the American Heart Association and Blue Cross-Blu- e Shield, along with many other civic and board assignments. Moore was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Young Man of Davis County by the Bountiful Jaycees in 1966 and was confirmed an Honored Member of Who's Who Worldwide as a result of demonstrated leadership and achievement in Occupation Industry and Profession in February of 1992. He wife has noticed little change in pace since his retirement. He has been kept busy with church responsibilities (his stakes high council), serves on the Executive Committee and boaid of the United Way of Davis County and Heuil the American Association, he is a meber of the Power Bountiful City Commission. He is also running for Davis County School Board in the 2nd District. In his spare time he plans to do family history research, as well as some travel to visit family in Georgia, New Orleans, and Colorado. Asked if he misses the demands of his profession. Mooie said, "Not on your life. I don't know how I ever had time for a full time 37 years job even though the past were a challenge, rewarding and very fultillmg." WILLIAM served on various committees and task forces. F have been married from 40 years. They have resided at their current home since 1963 and enjoy their Poetry contest seek entries from citizens Reason Bountiful Rhyme & Chapter of the Utah State Poetry Society invites all Davis County amateur poets to enter the 1996 poetry contest held in conjunction with National Poetry Week. Those interested in submitting may enter one unpublished poem, any form, with 30 lines or less. This year there will be two separate categories: a student category for those under 18 years of age, and an adult category.
