The student, who was in the fourth grade at the time of the contest, is a national winner in the Sally Foster Celebrate Education art contest. Klint Burningham was selected from thousands of entries from all over the country. The winning picture will be included in the next Sally Foster brochure and the winning student will receive a prize and an award. Holbrook Elementary got involved in the contest as a part of the Sally Foster Gift Wrap program in which are they participating this fall. Klint Burningham is the fourth of seven children. He has three sisters and three brothers. He loves to play soccer and basketball. In fact, he wants to be in NBA star when he grows up. He plays the piano and is involved with scouting. To kick off the Celebrate Education theme, Sally Foster Gift Wrap sponsored an art contest for students. Hundreds of schools participated in the program this year, which was complete with a lesson plan and awards for students and teachers. The lesson plan instructs students to brainstorm special days holidays, and talk about their meaning. Then the birthdays, events children create pictures symbolizing their favorite special days. Winning artwork will be featured in the upcoming brochures. Artwork was judged by a panel with professional expertise in giftwrap, cards, artwork BAND RECEIVES HONORS: The Viking Marching Band has completed, another very successful marching season. The band received recognition ; for the variety of musical tempos and maneuvers that were performed on the field. The band placed third at both the Nebo and Davis competi-!- ; tions. The band took the field under the direction of drum majors Dave Larsen and Dave Tibolla. The bands show featured music from Walt Disneys Mary Poppins. Beginning the season the Vikings marched in the Weber State University Band Festival. This was followed with competitions at the Nebo Tournament of Bands; BYU Marching Band Festival; Davis Cup and Bridgerland Band Invitational. The band received recognition for the variety of musical tempos and maneuvers that were performed on the field. The band placed third at both the Nebo and Davis competitions. Adding to the pageantry of the show was the color guard captained by Marcus Taylor. This spirited group of Vikings received first place at Davis Cup and the Best Auxiliary trophy at BYU.
