Wrathall, volunteer at Life Care Center of Bountiful, was recently given the first-evYouth Volunteer of the Year Award by Life Care Centers of America, the nursing and retirement center management company that operates Life Care Center of Bountiful. Wrathall began volunteering at the 120-be- d nursing facility as a way to cope with the death of his grander mother a year and a half ago. According to Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Teresa May Addington, who nominated Wrathall for the award, Wrathalls volunteerism has not only helped the resi- dents at the facility, but it has helped him deal with his own problems. For the past year and a half, Alex has run the sweet shop every Monday afternoon, Addington said. In order to serve ice cream to the residents, he has to be aware of all their diet orders and limitations. He has also encouraged his friend Sake to volunteer at the facility. Wrathall received the award during the final banquet of Life Cares Annual Management Meeting.
