But the resiliency of the human soul is a lesson that life can go on. The holidays can be a time of stress for many who are going through the grieving process. Whether it is for a husband, wife, child or close friend, there are some tips that will help you help make the season a better one for that person you care about. Dont forget the loved one, said Rhonda Feller who teaches classes for Davis County Mental Health.-Fellehas her degree in recreational therapy and her experience as a widow for the last two years. Sometimes people are afraid to mention the person who has died. It would be helpful to mention how much you miss the person in a Christmas card or letter, she said. Its a time to remember good things about the person or experiences you have had with them. Express these to the family. One of the hardest things for a person who has lost a spouse to deal with are the little things around the holidays that the other person did, like the Christmas list, the shopping, putting lights on the house or helping to put up the tree. That first r year a neighbor came over and put the lights on the house, she said. Ive tried to stay with some of our traditions. We like to do things as if he were there, she said. Now these things are things I have to do; turn on the lights, write the letter from Santa to the children. Its hard for someone who has lost a family member to walk into a Christmas party alone or go to the neighborhood or traditional friend activities. Everyone in my family and neighborhood has been supportive and always tried to include us so we dont have to go alone, she said. When the individual is working full or part time and trying to handle the grieving process, they Canterbury Hall has recently received a face lift. This grand old lady of 1914 vintage has been redecorated both inside and out. She has also received new proprietors. Previous owners Blaine and Barbara Butler have handed over the reigns to James and Beverley Anderson. Janies is a native of Bountiful and Beverley is from Western Australia. Banking and jewelry had previously been James' occupation and Beverley has been involved in her own business ventures, namely catering, real estate, travel and jewelry. They are enjoying their new challenge tremendously and look forward to serving the public in the reception business. Canterbury Hall has always been known for its high quality of food and this will continue as Beverley has been associated with the food industry for over 20 years. She and James have even introduced some se and more clients are using Canterbury for a stress-fre- e wedding celebration. Even dinners are catered and as usual, all food is home cooked. Beverley and James love their work and take pride in preparation and presentation. Ceremonies are another feature of Canterbury Hall as the reception area is transformed for the occasion and seats approximately 100 guests. In recent months the number of ceremonies held has nearly doubled and bookings for wedding celebrations are held well into the new year. With the completion of the new LDS Bountiful Temple, at times there are 60 weddings performed over a single weekend. It is necessary to reserve receptions well in advance. Beverley and James are available during the day and evening for tours and consultations. Music is an important part of the reception and in house disc jockey Craig Butler sets the mood for dancing and background music. Heather Fowles is pianist and organist. Her background music adds a special touch to a reception as she plays beautiful pieces from the early 1900s to the current love songs.
