Show page C2 Tuesday, August 15, 1 995 Davis County - Clipp ia South Davis Garden Club Show to be held Aug. South Davis Garden Club again offers its annual summer garden show Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 19-2- 0 between 5-- 8 p.m. Gardens this year have experienced ups and downs" with the unusual weather, but overall plantings look enticing. The tour gardens reflect the love and hard work of those who love the and show this in their surroundings. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to visit these gardens at their leisure. Signs will announce the gardens. Garden 1: Delore and Bob Moss, 1236 Birdie Lane, built their new home at the Back Nine" area north of Cherry Hill, off Highway 89, and Bob began landscaping the lot before the home was completed. The rear of the lot went into a ravine with a small stream running through the large old trees overhang the area, requiring lots of shade plantings. They have landscaped with sitting areas, walls, a waterfall, and small bridges crossing the water in a most interesting fashion. Garden 2: Dr. Claire and Valerie Palmer are located in rs north Farmingtons Somerset area at 1942 Summerwood Drive. Their home is situated in the middle of a large lot which sets off the house with rock and built- - up areas of shrubs and flowers and the huge open lot at the rear includes a private patio and at the rear of the large grassed area is a childrens playground and a gazebo. Garden 3: When Frank and Barbara Frodsham at 230 E. 1700 S., Farmington, originally purchased their acreage, it was with the idea they would have horses and over the years, hard work has transformed this former gravel pit into an area with a charming rock home, lawns and flowers, a pool and a new addition, a large pool house and gazebo for a crowd. There is a country-styl- e track where grass-enclose- d Barbara trains and gives riding lessons, along with stables where Frank boards or owns many fine horses. This area still maintains a country feeling. The Frodsham Ranch. Garden 4: Mel Hatch at 385 E. Center. Bountiful, proclaims his gardening efforts are purely for his own satisfaction and enjoyment. However, this corner lot, surrounded by a chain-lin- k fence, gives one a glimpse of this indus- trious gentlemans efforts when even driving on 4th East. The work of this gardener can be viewed from a stroll along the sidewalk for all to enjoy. Garden 5: Next door to the Hatch home at 375 E. Center, Bountiful, resides Gary Heeren and Bryan Severson, perfectionist gardeners. First, look for the outstanding bed of zinnias and careful plantings of border flowers and on to their rose garden in this yard which includes a fireplace at the rear.
