The Future Business Leaders of America also did an outstanding job last Friday at their competition. Farrah Newbold, Rebecca Stromness, and Tiffany Goaslind all took awards. So, we are very proud of them. All right, this is the end of recognition. If I happen to miss you, or your organization, please dial and there will be an operator to assist you with your As you have probably noticed by now, Eliza, the normal writer of this article is not the author of this arti- cle this time. I regretfully must announce that Eliza has become very seriously ill with a disease that plagues our society daily. ..what?? You ask?? well, most certainly that of a mental case. Eliza is so seriously ill that if you happen to run in to her dressed as a grandma and running the streets of Bountiful, you will know why, and you can run up to her and give her a great big humongous hug and tell her how much you truly love her. Hopefully, this continued encouragement will revive her and she will soon turn back to her wonderful self.. .Which self? Your guess is as good as mine. Anyway, back to this fabulous article. The Wildcats have been busy prowding up awards w'ith the state and I must say how very proud I am of them! We had a great number of sports and clubs competing this last week. Among them is our mighty Chatelles. The Chatelles traveled to Cyprus High School on Feb. 5 for the region drill competition. It was a close competition between Woods Cross, Cyprus, and West. But, of course you know as well as I do who took region. ..Woods Cross Chatelles! Yes indeed we did take the first place overall, plus first place in military and novelty and second place in dance. Liz Blundell, Chatelles president, would like to say that they are very excited for this award and are excited to take it to state. Liz loves being a Chatelle and her favorite part is kicking her legs really high in the air. Liz, we thank you for your support. OK! Now to go on. The swim team also had marvelous victories last at their state meet, including the following: Dave Siddoway placing fifth in diving, Bryce Jorgensen placing seventh in diving, and Paul Hatch, Jamie Coveil, and one other person which I can problems. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter. Uh-yOK. Hey girls.. .are you tired of sitting home on Junior Prom Night? Are those Friday Night Blues getting the best of you? Well, if this is you, you have just become the perfect candidate for the Sweetheart Ball. Sweetheart Ball will be held on February 19, 1994 from 8 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the Woods Cross gymnasium. The theme is The Sweetest Thing. So, since that is only four days away, I strongly suggest that if you havent gotten over your Friday night blues yet, go see a psychiatrist and get over your problem really fast so you can ask the guy that has been your dream man ever since sixth grade. However, chances are that if you have waited this long a. 1 wrong, there is nothing boring about Sterling Scholars, but there is about mentioning all these names! No, back to the serious side, all these people have worked very hard and I personally look up to them very much. In case youre having a hard time putting a name with a face, a picture has been provided somewhere in this newspaper. OK Ready? Here goes! Farrah G. Newbold, business and marketing; Allison Noel Creer, dance; Katie Gardiner, English; Melanie Minert, foreign language; Peter Alexander Carr, general scholarship; Kimberly Gilbert, family consumer and health stud.; Rebecka Stromness, applied technologies; Jennifer Karin Gerber, mathematics; Jeanne Deanne music; Morrison, McMurray, science; Stephen J. The above students were selected from many qualified applicants to represent Woods Cross, so, if you happen to see one of these people in the hall, be sure to tell them how proud you are and give them a big hug. By the way, speaking of hugs, Wednesday is official Hug Tiffany day, so if any of you happen to see her, give her a hug! Also, Monday begins a week which we should all be looking forward to. Expression Week! This week we will be focusing on talents by having people display them at lunch and etc. This all leads up to our Talent and Video Assembly on Friday. Be sure to be there. These people go to a lot of work to share their talents, so come share with them! Well, my friends, I regretfully must say that this article is almost as lengthy as that one Eliza girl writes them. I feel so awful! But, when you have a fabulous school like Woods Cross that is winning awards right and left, it is indeed necessary to cover all bases! One last thing.. .Dont forget to continue to support all of our sports teams right now! Wait! I just remembered something. Our wrestlers did an awesome job at their region competition last week and so we are very proud of them too. State basketball is coming up in about a week so be sure to be there to support our team. My time is up, and so is yours, Im sure. I love you and all my friendlies! Have a wonderful day and Ill be looking forward to seeing you all in the future! that youre really in good luck because I have found that if you ask more than two w'eeks ahead that it can be only four days from the dance and you still havent been answered.
