Fast Work Saves Culinary Water Quick and efficient work by private and public concerns saved Salina City from having to go without culinary water last week. We commend the fast thinking and skillful work that citizens contributed to save the water supply. Not only did Salina City workers and state crews rush to Lost Creek to save the sagging pipe, but private concerns contributed as well, including: Bryan Rasmussen, Hales Sand and Gravel, Ken Gates, Aurora City, and the Salina Volunteer Fire Department. Councilman Jack Learning said it was a miracle that the water was saved and that the miracle was created by fast work of everyone involved. Learning particularly pointed out the great work done by Kyle Torgerson and city workers. He also said that those who were called to help couldnt have come any quicker or worked harder to make sure Salinas culinary water was saved. We believe this only goes to prove that when the chips are down, it doesnt matter whether the workers are from public or private entities, people pull together to do what must be done. S.A.D.D.
