Fair County Pratt, the Sevier , kwas not even con- sidered' Elder Pratt did realize however, according to his writings that Sevier Valley was one of the most truly lovely spots, all things considered, my eyes looked upon. He added Some day or other, and that not distant, will swarm with hundreds of enterprising countrymen, and be regarded, as indeed it is, the garden of the Great Basin of California Mountains. Men came, and swarm they did, and they will continue to do so with the opening of the Sevier County Fair which begins Aug. 9 through Aug. 13 according to Marven Ogden, head of the annual event. Tne persecution was real bad there, as the church was just getting started. But it never seemed to get him down even though the people wouldnt believe his mess- You see, when I was just a small boy I had a favorite big brother. Hed put his arm around me and wld go scampering down some cool dirt road. At times like this I felt ten feet tall. He didnt seem to mind me tagging along one bit, and there was nothing I liked better. I was so proud of him. He was good 'at everything. I never could match the mountains hed make out of sand; mine would always crumble to the ground, but his would stand as firm as the Rocky Mountains. Dad always tried not to show how proud he was of him, he being the oldest and everything, but his smile was a little bigger when my brother was around. Then one day we received word that his mission had ended, but not as most men do. I was sickened by the news. They finally got hold of my big brother whom I played with, who never seemed capable of doing anything wrong; my brother that loved everyone he knew and whom most everyone loved. Theyd beaten him and A mob took him to a hill just outside of town and spitting on him they nailed him to a cross. My soul mourned as I heard that he begged his father to forgive them. Racked with Unbearable pain he gave his life. Where was my big brother with whom Fd shaped mountains out of sand? Why did he, out of all my brothers, have to die like this? I felt dads strong arm upon my shoulder He did it for you and your brothers and sisters. 0 Four Things God Wants You To Know" BAPTIST CHURCH I I I WE HAVE I I BSTEi I I I I I 1 963 by 21-2- American Legion Grounds.
