Show Todays County Fair Offers Variety of Events One the advantage residents of Sevier County have when the annual fair opens on Aug. 10 for four days is that there is no admission charge. Most fairs, especially state fairs all charge for entrance and parking. In the U.S., the most common type of fair was the counnty or state fair and was strictly, in the early days, an agricultural fair. Today, the county fair is the most popular, for it involves the people of the commmunity. Sevier The County Commissioners have fostered the fair over the years, continuing Olsen, Steve Jackson, Garth Ogden, Verla Breinholt, Leon Mylroie, Duyane Utley, Linda Hawkes, Kerri Wilson and Perry Gardner.
