Show Home Living Changes Many Since Pioneer Days In the beginning of the 19th century, the spinning wheel was just about all there was except her own two hands between a woman and her work. Then the inventive Yankees began to take time off from their factory machinery for their homes. Early coffee mills, cherry now the stoners, flatirons of American delight took a surcollectors prising amount of drudgery out of the most tiring household tasks of the 1800s. But turning a crank still wearied the arm and it was a great day for mother when electricity came along. Small electric motors turning brushes, and blowers vacuum the became cleaners. Motors hooked up to tubs became washing machines. Electric heating elements added efficiency to stoves, toasters and ovens. Then, when the servants diappeared in the 1940 s due to the upcoming war, household appliances started swarming in and out of the patent office like rabbits from a hutch. Each year, homemakers to the servant-sh- y home with new and more modern appliances that make keeping home, not a attest breeze, but far easier than yesteryear.
