The department is in charge of the fairgrounds, facilities, and the activities sponsored and conducted there. Some of the work that T. Merlin Ashman has been responsible for now and over the years is heading a catUe president for two terms and worked for many years in political circles. His work within the Church of Jesus Christ of Saints has high councilman and high priests instructor as well as finance clerk on a stake basis. Latter-da- y eluded in-h- bishop, sVr ranch, serving the community as a professional accountant, and working for Sevier County as commissioner. A resident of Richfield since 1943, Ashman moved here from Fillmore. He is married to Lyal Nelson of Redmond and they are the parents of three grown children. Mrs. Ashman is an English teacher at North Sevier High School. Ashman has served as a commmisioner for the past five years, aU in consecutive terms. He has worked in the Sevier County Planning and Zoning Department and with the Sevier County Welfare in addition to working with weed abatement.
