People in Utah are so tired of being taxed to death, he said, and the referendum should send a message to the state that they want local government to get its share of tax money, not the state. The Utah League of Cities and Towns has estimated that Roy City will lose $66,155 in property taxes if the rollback is approved, and another $75,573 if the gas tax is rolled back. Thats a total revenue loss of $141,728, the league rd said. In addition to money amounts, Weber County can be expected to cut the paramedic program in Roy and other cities, Padden action. The taxpayers will vote on the issue in November, with the leg said. City administrators, who are getting ready to begin mapping out Roy Citys options in advance of a public education program asked direction from the council, focusing primarily on possible cuts in services and programs. Councilman Jim Thomas said that while many opinions have been offered on the impact of the rollbacks, if theyre approved by the voters, no one knows for sure what its going to cost. I Clinton OKs new budget CLINTON City Council members adopted a $1.1 million budget for the coming fiscal year. Most departments requested an increase of approximately 5 percent. The $124,000 Clinton received from the sale of its share of the old landfill (NARD) was not appropriated last year, but held in the general fund. This amount will take care of the slight increase in the departments and provide some funds for the capital improvements needed about the city, one of which is to do some chip filler re pair work in the city office parking lot. The fire station addition approved some time ago will also get under way, estimated to cost about $32,000. Although a crossing guard on 1000 W. 1800 N. was cut from the budget, the council said that they will see that children can cross safely. Several citizens were present during the meeting to voice their concern. The roadway of a new subdivision will provide access for the children to get to another - street where there is a crossing guard. For the few who cross on 1000 West, the council felt it would be better to consolidate crossings at both streets into one. However, the council agreed that in the event the new street is not completed, providing the other alternative route for the children to take, before school begins in the fall, they would provide a guard until the street is completed. All parties were satisfied with the agreement, according to City Manager Gary Uresk. Roy OKs storm drain project A construction conROY tract has been awarded to Ormond Construction Co. for t construction of the 5300 South 2100 West storm drain project, Scott Berry, public works director, said. The firms bid was $96,173. Berry said the bid, which was the lowest of several submitted, also was considerably lower than the $113,000 engineering estimate. Part of the project is the construction of a storm dram detention pond at Roy Junior High School. A class B beer i proportions increasesengmeperformanceand 1 helps to reduce knocking and g pinging.
