Jeremy Jay Byington, son of Don and Cheryl Byington, 1341 W. 1045 S., Clearfield, is a mem- ber of Pack 309, sponsored by the Syracuse 5th Ward. He has earned his Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos. He earned 2 gold arrow points, 48 silver arrow points, and his Faith in God award. He was Scout of the Year for the pack and has had perfect attendance for the past two years. Corey T. Hansen, son of O. Wayne and Debra Hansen. 501 N.; 2200 W. West Point, is a member of Pack 309, sponsored by the Syracuse 5th Ward. He has earned his Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, naturalist, geologist, scholar, aquanaut, artist, outdoorsman, forester, craftsman and citizen awards. He has earned silver and gold arrows. Corey attended Cook Elementary but now attends West Point Elementary. He likes to snow ski, play basketball and football. Michael Rutherford, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Stock of 102 S. 450 E., Clearfield, has earned his Eagle Scout ranking. I A member of Troop 78, sponsored by Clearfield Community Church, he attends Clearfield is active in High. The debate, and has earned Outstanding NCOIC in ROTC. He is a member of the Order of The Arrow and has earned On My Honor Award. He is a member of the 1st Ward in Clearfield. Allen Wade Ilansen, son of Robert A. and Lana Hansen, 423 Forbes Ave., Layton, has earned his Arrow of Light. A member of Pack 163, sponsored by Layton 7th Ward, he is a fifth grader at Lincoln Elementary. He has earned all Cub Scout ranks, 10 arrows as a wolf, six arrows as a bear. He has received his Faith in God Award. He is currently working on his 5th activity badge. He plays the piano and participates in AYSO soccer and league baseball. He also enjoys camping and fishing. ! 1 Local students receive awards in competition Three area students have placed or received honorable mentions in the Utah Symphony 5,000th Concert Composition Competition. Receiving honorable mentions in the primary grades category are Jennah and Tasha Crowther of Fruit Heights. In the junior division, Douglas Brewer of Kaysville won second place. The winners were selected from 131 finalists representing 18 school districts across the state.
