The ordinance, passed by a 2 vote, limits the parking of motor vehicles or trailers on a city street to 72 hours at the same location. The ordinance also makes it illegal to use the streets to change the oil, grease or repair of vehicles except for immediate repair, t m I 3-- 10 shirt OFF regular priced I Offer good at participating stores only. Baird said the ordinance also restricts parking in the street for the purpose of advertising or to sell the vehicle. The ordinance is a good approach,, said Mayor Neldon Hamblin. Weve really gathered a lot of clunkers and frustrations (with parked cars on the streets), he said. He said he fears for children who run out between the Selected mens Jox and Wild Style footwear that were $19.99 to $29.99 ore now $15.90 to $23.90 Some boys styles that were $17.99 to $22.99 are now $13.90 to $17.90 50i Off cars. Hamblin also thought the repair part of the ordinance was a good idea.' He said he had actually observed people changing their oil on the street and dumping it down the gutter. Police Chief Darren Green said the only way vehicles can be monitored is to go back and check them. He said the 72 hours gives people enough time to park vehicles if they need to, but not for .the vehicles to become a permanent fixture oh the streets. Resident Bob Rush told the council that they should prohibit overnight parking. The city presently only prohibits overnight parking during snow removal.
