Verification service, is a service in which an operator determines if a line is in use. Customers request this service when they want assurance that the line is indeed busy. Interrupt service is an emergency service. When a customer must contact someone and the line is busy, an operator will interrupt the conversation and put the concerned customer through. LAYTON Kings Variety Store has been in Layton longer than a good number of Laytons residents, more than 21 years. The store was one of the original tenants of the Fort Lane Shopping Center and for many years was the only store of its kind in the area. Kings has recently undergone expansion and renovation, adding 5,000 square feet of floor space to the existing area. Hermon King, son of one of the founders of the King Variety store chain, was in Layton last week for the grand opening of the newly remodeled store. He said that the Layton store is one of the largest in the chain of 30 stores in Southern Idaho and Northern Utah. The store employs 25 people. The clothing department has greatly expanded and Johnson said that they will offer a wider variety of low priced clothing than in the past.
