The trip is financed by the German government. The national, standardized test can be taken by any high school German student who does not speak English at home and has not traveled, in Germany for more than six weeks. Finalists must score in the top 10 percent. The second stage of the Utah competition is individual interviews with German, professors from the, Univcrsitv of I Utah.
