Mrs. Hazel Cook returned home Sunday evening after spending the 4th of July weekend with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gale Cook, of Roy, Utah at the High Uintas. They enjoyed fishing and camping at Mirror Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Melquist of Salt Lake City spent last Monday with her father, Mr. Rex White, and their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Reese also visited at the White home during the week. Mrs. Jay (Pat) Reif and two children of Seattle, Washington is vacationing at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Sorensen. w, w, Three hundred eighty-seve- n students have participated in Summer School in the Payson area. The classes that have taught are: Reading Improvement; Nature Study, Elementary Shop, Beginning Sewing, Industrial Crafts, Industrial Acquaintance, Lapidary and Jewelry Making, Band, Physical 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. The Fitness, students who have participated in these classes have enjoyed themselves & have learned many important lessons. Mr. and Mrs. William Andrews and son, Charles, of Albion, New York visited with Mrs. Violet Gold and Larry and Cherl Brown Monday, July 6. The Andrews are converts to the church and were baptized by Elder Demoin Gold, a son of Mrs. Gold. The family enjoyed getting a firsthand report from Demoin. Brent and daughter, Sandra, returned home July 4 from a week trip, fishing, camping and rock hunting, to Elko, Nevada, Fremont River and Burley, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Thompson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bonham and family of Pleasant Grove returned Sunday evening from a four day vacation to Ferron Reservoir and surrounding country where they enjoyed Honda and Tote Gote riding and excellent fishing and camping. berry. Mr. and Mrs. Noble DeHart and daughter, Mrs. Jan Broadhead, and baby daughter, Gayle, traveled to Ogden on Monday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George B. Russell and Mr. Peter W. DeHart. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Buys and children, Lori, Kristi, Ramela and Gordon, spent one week at Fish Lake, returning on Monday. They enjoyed the coolness of the canyon and the delicious fish fries. Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Rothe and daughAnna, spent third and fourth of July at Mrs. Rothe s brothers cabin in Straw- ter, Mrs. Lyle Tanner and son, Vern, and daughters, Lynda, Arlen and Jeanette, motored to Alamogardo, New Mevico during the 4th of July weekend. They visited Mrs. Dale Tanner, their daughter-in-laand family. They went to El Paso, Texas and into old Mexico. They toured a glass factory and watched them blow fine glass for patio lights. They traveled on a sight seeing bus at Juarec and especially enjoyed a walk-i- n tour at Carlsbad Caverns. They attended an LDS Ward Celebration at Alamogardo and a patio dinner at Holloman Air Base with the afternoon at White Sands National Monument Park. It was a hurry up trip with every moment planned. Delyla Tanner returned home with them after a months visit with her sister-in-la- w. Mr. and Mrs. Dwane Bishop and family of San Diego spent the past week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Angus Bishop, They had previously spent a week at Blanding with Mrs. Bishops parents. A granddaughter of Angus and Mae, Jane Bishop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bishop, of Los Angeles also vacationed at the Bishop home. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Perry and children, Dale and Brenda, of Wisconsin visited at the Harold Erekson home. Mrs. Perry is a sister of Mrs. Danny Erekson and she was overjoyed to see them. Mr. Perry has recently returned from a years duty in Vietnam. He will now be stationed at Hill Field. Friends and relatives are glad to welcome the Gerald Finch family of Las Vegas, Nevada into our midst again. Mr. Finch is attending summer school at the BYXJ and they are making their home in Provo for the summer. Brenda Rowley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Rowley and Joyce Hill, daughter of President and Mrs. LeRoy Hill, left today by bus for the Hill Cumorah Pageant near Palmyra, New York. They will act as guides, etc. and will be there for three weeks. Both girls are attending the BYU. boys and Tuesday evening twenty-thre- e girls from the MIA Laurel and Ensign groups met at the West Ward Chapel where they left for a bicycle ride. Leaders are Elaine Schramm and husband, Dowell Reed Schramm, and Larry Brown, and wife. Cheryl. Their destination was a progressive dinner at four homes. First hostess for appetisers was Karen Kenison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kenison; second stop for salad was at the Oran Finlinson home with Gail Wienie as hostess; third stop was at the Dan Bishop home with daughter, Wendy, as hostess; fourth and last stop was at the Wayne Bushman home with daughter, Janice, serving desert and bidding them all goodnight. It was truly a fun night for all even if forty-si- x legs were tired and stiff the following day. Mr. Leo Thompson of Las Angeles arrived July 4 from Los Angeles, Calif, for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Thompson, and brothers and sisters. He left for home July 9. Mr. and Mrs. William Tanner and son. 4 f i Mrs. Gary DeLeeuw and sons, Brad and Scott, and daughters, Kristie and Debbie, and Mrs. DeLeeuws sister, Mrs. Cary Bailey, and son, Brent, of Provo motored to Mancos, Colorado where they spent one week with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nelson. They met a cousin, Mrs. Pamela McCoy of New York, New York whom they had not seen for six years. Bishop and Mrs. Sterling Spencer returned recently from a business trip to Lake Tahoe, Nevada. They were guests at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel. They attended dinners and the Jack Benny and Lawrence Welk shows at Harrahs Club. Of special pleasure was boat riding on Lake Tahoe. Mrs. Spencer attended a dinner for the ladies at Ponderosa Ranch. From Nevada they traveled to El Cajon, California to be with their daughter, Mrs. Claudine Benson, when she underwent back surgery and to assist Mr. Benson in the home. Tracy and Nikki Benson returned to Utah with their grandparents for an indefinite visit. Mrs. Iva Nay and son, Keith, motored to Delta Thursday where they celebrated Keiths birthday at the home of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Taylor. After a delicious dinner followed by birthday cake and homemade ice cream Keith and his cousin, Dennis, went to the show. They returned home Friday morning. Brenda Rowley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Rowley, was hostessat a kitchen shower Saturday night in honor of Deona Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jackson. Deona is to be married Aug. 13 to Mr. Chad Green of Salt Lake. Orange and yellow favors and color scheme was used. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by twenty-fiv- e guests. Many useful gifts were received. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jackson were guests at a dinner in Galt Lake Saturday evening given by their daughter, Deona Jackson, at the home of and Mr. Chad Green Deonas aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry K. Hill. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Green, parents of Chad, the Hills and the hosts. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Rindlisbacher and family attended a family reunion Saturday at the Nebo Stake Center for the family of her parents, Alfred and Lena Gill A full course dinner was served to seventy family members. Mrs. Gill made a beautiful painted quilt which each member took a chance on and proceeds went to the perpetual care of their cemetery lot. A lovely program was presented followed by a business meeting. Mrs. Rindlisbacher was elected secretary and treasurer for the coming year. Dean Cardoza of Palo Alta, Calif., a nephew of Reed and Norma Rindlisbacher, arrived at the Salt Lake Airport Friday night for an overnight visit with his aunt and uncle. He came to attend the Gill reunion in Salt Lake. The little girl was given the name of Shaunie D. Okelberry. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Goodwine and daughter, Mrs. Larry (Kathy) Hochlater of Moab. spent the weekend and 4th of July at the home of their daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Clair Winnie. son-in-la- w, Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Buxton last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. A1 Chapman and sons, Cal and Bud; his girl friend, Caroline; and daugh- - 465-263- 8 Mr, and Mrs. Frank Griffith returned home recently from a pleasant two week vacation trip to Calif, and Oregon. They went to Garrison and visited with Mrs. Griffiths cousin, Mrs. Cecrl Rowely. Going onto Ely, Nev. they stopped for a visit with her two aunts living there, Mrs. Ava Baker and Mrs. Elinor Ramsey. They visited the Yosemite National Park and their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Day, former Springville residents, now residents of Cyrpus Heights. They took the coast highway and enjoyed taking pictures of the ocean as they went. At Happy Camp, Calif, they stopped for a visit with Mrs. Griffiths youngest sister, Evelyn, and husband, Chick Miller. Going to Redman, Oregon they spent several days with their son, Glen, their daughter-in-laBetty, and their four children who were happy to see their grandparents. They attended the Griffith family reunion held at Kathrine Creek, Oregon which was one reason for their vacation at this time. Their son, Larry, his wife, Jeannie and two small sons from Spring Lake and their daughter, Patricia, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Olson and w, children from Riverton met their parents in Oregon and attended the family reunion with them. After the reunion Mr. and Mrs. Griffith visited with his brothers and sisters, his aunts and cousins before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Olspn and children called at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Griffith, one day last week. They were enroute to their home at Riverton after having been on a vacation trip to Oregon to attend the Griffith family reunion and had gone down the coast into Calif, where they had visited places of interest. son, Billy Spainhower, hiw wife, Patricia and their two children, Todd and Terri Kim; Mr. Spainhowers mother, Mrs. Ila Spainhower and Mrs. Spainhowers mother, Mrs. Ida Pierson; also Mrs. Ilas Spainhowers mother, Mrs. Clara Lindstrom, all from American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Peay were happy to have overnight visitors from Phoenix, Ariz., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gunnaman. The Gunnamans were on their way for a visit in Coopersville, Mich., their former home. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Tervort were invited to join the Peays and Gunnamans for a fish dinner at the Peay home which they all enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Elvon Butler returned home Saturday from an enjoyable five day vacation trip to Idaho and Montana. Motoring to Idaho Falls Tuesday morning and attending a session in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in the afternoon which they enjoyed. They went to West' Yellowstone and visited around the quake area, noting the changes which had been made in the area of the Hebgen Lake. They also followed along the Lewis and Clark Trail visiting the cities on both side of the river. Mrs. Vola Butler accompanied her sisCora, and husband, John Daniels, to Nephi Sunday afternoon for a visit with their brother-in-laEdger Park, who had been in the hospital Mr. and Mrs. V.L, Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Buxton and Mrs. Eva Cook were dinner guests last Sunday at the home of Mrs. Josephine Lux. Milton Mr. Burt Burraston of Payson, formerly of Goshen, was taken to the Payson City Hospital with severe burns over 75 of his body. He was later rushed to the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City. During the encampment, cadets become familiar with the life and activities on Air Force bases and can examine career opportunities in which they might wish to serve as officers. Other highlights of the course include survival training, aircraft and aircrew indoctrination, small arms training and visits to other Air Force bases. Lesia Greenhalgh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerol Greenhalgh, of Orem, spent last week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Burraston. Davidson Nolan R. Davidson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Grieve of Salt Lake City and her granddaughter, Miss Debra Lee Beftess of Houston Texas visited her sister, Mrs. Eva Cook, and an uncle, Mr. Steven Bettess at Santaquin. Mr. and Mrs. V.L. Beck of Ogden spent the 4th of July and the weekend at the home of their sister-in-laMrs. Eva w, Cook. Mrs. Delia White was called home last Friday by the death of her sister, Mrs. Dorothy Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Moore from Kays-vil- le spent the July 4th weekend visiting with his mother, Mrs. Vola Butler. They went to Fish Lake Sunday night and returned Monday night. They stopped at the home of his mother before going to their home at Kaysville. Robert Moore has been released from the service and is staying here at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Vola Butler. He is employed at the mine and will attend the BYU summer school when it starts later this month. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Morrison and family have purchased the Roy Lyman home and have moved to Spring Lake to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lyman have moved to Provo. Mr. and Mrs. R.N. Moore spent an enjoyable outing over the July 4th weekend at Park with his brother and Huntington sisters. They went Thursday night and come home on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Peay enjoyed a three day outing and fishing trip to Strawberry. They went to Strawberry on Tues- day. Wednesday the Peays were joined by friends, Mr. and Mrs. R.N, Moore who spent two days at Strawberry. They enjoyed going out in a boat to fish. The two couples returned home Thursday night. Miss Rosalyn Moore spent several days visiting at the home of her sister, Karen, and husband, Brent Cloward, and two little nieces, Lisa and Janette Cloward.
