Show ' Spring Lake Events UnoriHuiih Rhone and two children Nathan and Rebecca from Palmyra, New York arrived in Utah on Wednesday, August 16, for a two week vacation with relatives. They visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hector Sadler onSunday and attended Sunday School and Sacrament Meeting with them. 45-263- 1 Mr. and Mrs. Larry Griffith are rejoicing over the birth of a new arrival, a boy born Tuesday morning, August 21, at the Payson Hospital. He weighed in at seven pounds and ten ounces. He will answer to the name of Steven Ray from now on. He has a brother Troy who when he arrived home. greeted him Mr. Harold Sadler from Logan, Mr. Arthur Sadler, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Sadler and children from Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Wanda Dahl and family from Sandy, Oregon, who were visiting in Spring Lake with relatives on Sunday attended Sunday School with the Neil Kitteridge family and meeting at night. Very pleased grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Raymon Bascom and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Griffith. Miss LaRae Butler from Kearns who came to Goshen on Thursday by way of the road around the Utah Lake visited at the home of her sister, Mrs. Darthella Cook at Goshen. They both came here to visit with their mother, Mrs. Fanny V. Butler and sister, Mrs. Viola Cowan. When Miss Butler went home she took her niece, Mrs. Sharon HUrst and small son with her. James Cecil S. Peery spent Monday visiting at the home of her son and Mr. and Mrs. Merrin daughter-in-laSpainhower and family at Payson. Mrs. w, Chesley Walker and his mother, Mrs. Ruth Walker and his sister, Emma Walker motored to Salt Lake Saturday where they spent sometime visiting the zoo. They also went to Lagoon and visited there. Before coming home they visited at the home of friends, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Rasmussen at Bountiful. Mrs. Rasmussen and Mrs. Walker have been friends since they were' in fourth grade. Duane Eagar, sdn of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Eagar went tq New Mexico with a professor from the cdllege at Cedar City with whom he met and became friendly with, who went to attend an Educational Meet held at the University of New Mexico. They spent a wek there and had a very enjoyable trip. Before leaving for New Mexico, James Duane attended several Shakespearian plays at the Cedar City college with the professor. Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Fisher- have en- joyed having their daughter Dianfe and James Williams and their five children from Inglewood, Calif. Visit with them. Mr. Williams stayed for a week and then returned to Inglewood, leaving his wife and children here for a longer visii with her - son-in-la- w, - ' Mr. and Mrs. Neil Kitteridge and family have been very happy with a visit from her sister, Mrs. Wanda Dahl and family from Sandy, Oregon. She was a house guest for a week at the Kitteridge home. The two sisters are daughters of Mr. Arthur Sadler and have not seen each other for several years. On Sunday, August 17, Mr. Arthur Sad- ler and family gathered at the home of Mrs. Neil Kitteridge to hold a family reunion. Coming for the reunion were his four daughters and one son, Mrs. Blaine (Reta) Hansen and three children from Altamont, Mrs. Wanda Dahl and eight children. Ore., Mrs. Lois Bennion and husband Barton Bennion and six children from Maser, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Sadler and two children from Las Vegas, Nev., and Ina Mae and husband Neil Kitteridge and their three children. This is the first time the family have all been together since the death of their mother, (Katie Butler Sadler) some twenty years ago. It was a very happy gathering. They took their dinner and went to the Payson Park where they enjoyed the family parents. While he was here they visited with his brother and family at Ogden and with his twin brother at Salt Lake and with her relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Williams visited their son, Mr. and Mrs. Don Fisher and family at Salt Lake and they all went out for dinner. They also visited with a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Quintin Elder and family at Provo. The children have especially enjoyed visiting with their grandparents and going swimming at Arrowhead and at Santaquin. Hudson will be in charge of procurring talent in the Santaquin Democratic Precinct area. Showtime varieties will be held in the Provo High School Auditorium on Sept. 25th. There will be ten or twelve parts in the show from throughout Utah County. Anyone interested in participating in the talent quest should contact Mrs. 5. Hudson. Her phone number is Mr. Clifford Smith is chairman of the Democratic precinct in this area. S 0 M Mm MS-iLinda Bean has returned to Payson and will spend the remainder of her vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Weston Bean, before going on to Sacramento, California where she is a teacher of home economics at La Sierra High SchooL Linda has concluded a trip around the world, in which she traveled with 26 persons in a tour sponsored by the Calif. Teachers Assn, and the National Education Assn. They visited 16 countries and she brought home brass from India, bronze from Thailand, ivory from Hong Kong, suade leather from Turkey, wood from Spain and jewels from Nepal, to mention the source of some of her soveniers. Enroute home she stopped in New York City and saw the musical, 'Promisesl Promises! She also stopped in Chicago, I1L, and in Davenport, Iowa, visited a pen pal she haij not had the opportunity in meeting in all of the 14 years in which they have corresponded. ' 50-d- ay 754-341- A family reunion of the family of Mrs. Arvilla Carter was held in Nephi Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Carter. A hot supper was served to the following Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Hudson, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Lazone Porter and Mrs. Kenny Hudson. Mrs. Arvilla Carter is serving an LDS Mission and should be home in Sept. Mr. and Mrs. Don Peterson and family of Las Vegas visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Peterson of here and in Provo at the home of Mrs. Rhoda Hudson. Mr. and Mrs. Don Armstrong returned home Tuesday from a 10 day vacation to Reno, Nevada and Klamath, California. While in Klamath they visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shaffer. They also enjoyed deep sea fishing. In company with them were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coombe of Pleasant Grove, Utah and Mr. and Mrs. Theron Snyder of Concord, Calif. Mrs. Mary Alice Larson is a patient at the Payson Hospital with an illness. Some other relatives who association. joined with them for dinner were aunts, uncles and cousiis; Mr. and Mrs. Hector Sadler, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Sadler and two children from Palmyra, New York, Mr. Harold Sadler, Logan and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Mower and family. With other Sadler relatives who came for the reunion made a group of approximately 125. Arthur Sadler who has a record of 61 years in Scout work reported that he attended the Scout Jamberee held at Far-ragIdaho recently and how much he enjoyed being there. He is still engaged in Scout work. et, Mr. and Mrs. Paul B. Miller and three sons have returned to their new home in Glendora, Calif., after spending their vacation in Utah at the homes of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Daniels, Payson, and Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Miller, Spanish Fork. While they were here all enjoyed a surprise party honoring the eldest son, Douglass, who was celebrating his 17th birthday. It was given at the Creer cabin in Hobble Creek Canyon, where a hot dinner was served by his aunt, Mrs. Kenneth Creer, and his Grandmother Mil-,le- r. Doug was later honored when birthday cake and ice cream were served at the home of his maternal grandparents in Payson. Six days spent in touring' Mesa Verda Mr. and Mrs. J. Rowe Groesbeck spent a few days at Roosevelt, when they were houseguests of Dave Huish and with him attended events of the UBIC (Uintah Basin Industrial Convention). Parades and programs were highlighted with appearances of many beautifully costumed Indians. Park, Durango and Silverton, Colo., and areas enroute, were recently enjoyed by two Payson families. In the group were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hardman and daughters, Jolynn and Sharon, and their young guest, Kathy Stickney; also Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Shelley and children, Kenny, Kathy, Carrie, Collette and Brett. They traveled in two vehicles pulling trailers and enjoyed the beautiful scenery where they toured and camped. Mrs. Leila Beck has returned to her home in Payson after spending the winter and spring with members of her family. She was with her children in California for some six months and later spent two months in Bountiful with her son, Wayne Beck, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Beck of the Los Angeles area have been visiting with her during the past week. Mrs. DeUa Chatwin of Payson and Mrs. Lucile Bird of Springville spent four days in Cedar City while the Shakespearean Festival was being held. They attended all three plays, stating that it was a wonderful experience. The outstanding actors hail from all parts of the United States many being students at University of Southern Utah or at schools in other localities. Mrs. Geraldine Broadbent has had the pleasure of entertaining her daughter, June, and husband, Fred Saunders, and sons, Jeff, Walker and David, of San Mrs. Gould Dixon took her six grandchildren to Lagoon Wednesday for a day of riding the concessions, swimming and picnicking. In the group wereDenne, Kent, Bonne and Gus Dixon; Scott and Myrth Dixon. They were accompanied by Mrs. Noel Dixon. Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Walker (Ranae Forsey) and their children, Cindy, 5; Gary, 8; and Randy, 18, have returned to their home in Mesa Ariz., after visiting for two weeks with relatives. They were guests of Mr. Walkers mother, Mrs. Lillian Walker, Santaquin and Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Forsey in Payson. Visiting with Mrs. Margaret Peery, has had successful removal of a catarac from her eye, have been her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Glen (Sam) Peery and children, Pamela, Susan and Joseph Ryan Peery, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Oston Buck (Charlene Kerr) and daughter, Karen Evans, Magna; Jane Harvard, Marie Johnson and daughter, Mary Bates, all of Springville. Several family parties were held while th$ family was here from Seattle, with one at the canyon attraoting 22 persons as follows: Mrs. Peery, the Glen (Sam) Peerys, Mr. and Mrs. Rex (LuDene) Peery and children, Bart and Gina, Payson; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Peery and children Allen and Jeffrey Lynn, Spanish Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Spencer (Ruth Marie) and family including Gary, Linda and Dennis Riches, Carolyn Christensen, Dusty and Marty Spencer. Mrs. Sam Peery and the children arrived some three weeks early by plane and visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Harvard, Springville and returned to Seattle after Mr. Peery arrived for a few days visit. who Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holm enjoyed a weekend at Pine Lake in Southern Utah recently. With them were their five daughters and also Mrs. Holms parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pherron Heaps. They met with people who once lived in the town of Widtsoe, talking over old times and places. Also going from Payson were Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Kay and son, Carl, and Mrs. Nola Heaps. A program and community sing were held and many old acquaintances renewed. The Holms two eldest daughters went on to Phoenix with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Quinn vacation before Roundy, for a the start of schooL two-we- Mrs. Mary Jeppson and her daughter, Joyce, on vacation from school teaching duties at Roy, are enjoying a pleasant summer of sightseeing and visiting numerous relatives. They recently spent three days at Yellowstone National Park, making headquarters at Old Faithful area and making tours out from there to see the entire park. Their route to the park took them through Dayton, Idaho, where Mrs. Jeppson s grandson, Ray Perry, of Payson, is employed on a farm, then on to Montpelier where they visited Mrs. Jeppsons sister, Members of the family of the late Truman Pickering held a picnic Sunday afternoon at Hobble Creek Canyon. Visiting and also games including golf were en- -' joyed.
