Show LETTERS Award given Dear Sir, After reading this weeks Chronicle which I receive every week in the mail I just had to write and say how much I enjoyed reminiscing with Thelma Lance as she talked about Paysons main street as it use to be. Many memories came back as she mentioned the different places that I remembered as a child and young girl growing up. Since marrying and leaving Payson Ive lived in many different places but I still prefer to raise my children in a town like I grew up in, where we could walk almost any where in town and stand on the street corner and talk as we were saying goodnight to our friends. I certainly love that town and always like to come back to it. No matter where I go it will always be home to me. In closing I would like to say how much I enjoy Mrs. Lances columns and also the rest of the paper. Keep up the good work. Davis, vice president. Rite Rosalind Dear Rosalind, I am overweight! I just cant seem to control my appetite. Im only 31 and if I keep gaining at this rate Ill be 300 lbs. by the time Im 50. I feel trapped. I have broken so many diets I have no faith in myself. It is affecting my social life too, no one wants or understands a fat wife, Can you help me? mother, or friend. Fat & Ugly Dear Overweight & F oolish, I refuse to call anyone fat & ugly. When we have problems that are very personal we tend to over dramatize them. No one hates you because youre fat. If you have lost friends don't blame it on your fat. People love spirits and personalities not bodies. The only people who loye bodies with no regard for personality are very foolish young men and undertakers. Work on your sense of humor, your capacity to love, your ability to bring out the best in others. Next keep yourself clean and neat from your hair down to your feet. Buy or make yourself some new clothes. If you cant afford much make some cotton dresses that are new and can be washed.
