it in their blood They have eaten breathed and thought about soccer all day But at the end of last Wednesday game against Uintah the team went home with the first loss in the season tainting a perfect record The game started regularly with warm ups getting into the game then starting to listen to themselves play At half the team was determined to make it Kurt Gasser scored in both the first and second halves His last score ended the Rabbits’ season Somewhere the team stopped During the battle between the teams Dain Betty of Uintah scored two points putting Uintah two ahead of Delta The score stayed the same until the last 13 minutes ran out Endless attempts were made in the wind Delta couldn't keep the ball at their end The wind pushed more than just the ball away from the goal Delta’s spirit was also blown back during the last 20 minutes of the game Even though the season didn’t end perfectly the team is still perfect in Pedro Gonzalas’ eyes “I think that they are the best team in Utah not only on the field but how they treat each other" said Gonzalas “They are the best role models a person could have" He added “To me it was just one game out of a perfect season which happened to be a do or die game” Gonzalas paralleled the sport to life “That’s the way that life is When you grow older you will be up and then fall and you will have to relearn and recover That’s life” Soccer is a big part of these boys' life but they also have other things in their lives “They still have their know ledge w hich is way important their families their ligion” said Gonzalas “They still have a lot of things that are important” Pedro Gonzalas holds all this year varsity players close “I would love to have all of them as my sons” When asked about the season Gonzalas wanted to talk about the past four years he has coached these boys “They are the most wonderful group of kids and it will be hard to replace them" tainment Front row left to right: Samantha O'Barr Solena Probert Sandi Gentry
