revenue going to predator control and deer and elx herd management It is interesting to note that sportsmen's groups actually asked for the license increase on the condition that the monev go towards predator control and herd management The legislature passed two other hunting related bills lhe first declares that any wildlife taken while trespasshill makes it so landowners will not have to ing (ADHD) is a persistent pattern of inattention andor that is more frequent and severe than is typically observed in individuals at a comparable level of development The inattention component may be displayed at school or at home Work is often messy and performed carelessly Individuals may have difficulty sustaining attention in tasks or play activities They often appear as if their mind is somewhere else or as if they are not hearing or listening to whal s being said The hyperactivity component mav be exhibited in fidgetiness or squirming in one's seal by not remaining seated when expected to by excessive running or climbing in appropriate situations or by talking excessively Toddlers and preschoolers with this disorder differ from other children at their developmental stage by being constantly on the go and into ever) thing darting back and forth running through the house being unable to sit still long enough to hear a story at school or at home children with the disorder may get up frequentlv fidget with objects tap their hands shake their legs excessively The impulsi vity component may manifest itself as impatience difficulty in delay ing responses difficulty awaiting one's turn and frequently interrupting or intruding on others to the point that it cause social difficulties The prevalence of Disorder is estimated at 3V5 of all children It is much more frequent in males than in females Research has shown that children with ADHD have a higher risk of becoming alcohol and other drug abusers Many people including some clinicians have feared that giving a prescription stimulant to children may get them into the habit of using drugs or may cause changes in the reward center of the brain which lead to chemical dependency However studies with adult substance abusers indicate that a majority had ADHD that was undiagnosed and untrealed A longitudinal study conducted by Dr Joseph Bicderman at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and ported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has found that children who were medically treated for their ADHD were less likely to become substance abusers than children who were not medicated Another study indicated that administering ADHD medication to adult addicts with the disorder reduced their use of illicit drugs studies of the children involved in the studies continues which will indicate whether ADHD medication therapy protects against substance abuse in later adolescence and adulthood and whether gender differences exist in the effects of stimulants on substance abuse For information about this or other mental health substance abuse disorders please contact Centra Utah Counseling Center at or Trr" Q Spiral Galaxy M100 Coma Berenices Astensm ovals represent
