ofTice for supplying us with the following unapproved minutes of the County Commissioner’s meetings August 3rd 1992: Commissioners Baker Brinkerhoff and Moon were present along with County Attorney LcRay Jackson County Clerk Marlene Whicker and Deputy Clerk Sheri Stephenson - Commissioner Baker made the motion to approve the minutes of July 27 1992 Commissioner Moon seconded The vote was unanimous Brent Olson Department of Wildlife Resources and Mont Snyder were present regarding a shooting ordinance It was brought to the attention of the Commissioners in a previous meeting of the need to have an ordinance established for the safety of the citizens of Millard County Apparently hunters have been shooting loo close to the city limits within the county The proposed ordinance would initiate an accurate footage for the use of firearms Attorney LcRay Jackson has been working on the ordinance Mr Olson stated that he was aware that Beaver County had such an ordinance lie will get acopy of this for Attorney Jackson to review Commissioner Moon stated that she had spoken with Mark Trotter concerning the vending machines at the Fillmore Swimming Pixil Mr Trotter feels that he should have the opportunity of having a machine in the Della Swimming Pool whereas Bob David of Delta has a vending machine in the Fillmore Pool The Commissioners decided that if there is room at the Delta pool they will authorize Mr Trotter to place a vending machine in the facility in Delta Choral Clark reported to Commissioner Moon that the reason the funds were withdrawn from the fair account was for the purpose of paying the entertainment in advance and the purchase of the ribbons and other prizes to be awarded at the fair In further checking there arc additional funds left in the fair budget to offset the accounts Commissioner Baker asked how many tickets have been sold to the BBQ on Thursday night of the County Fair Mixtn answered that Commissioner there is really no way of knowing It has been advertised in the paper and on the radio Commissioner Mixtn slated that the fee for the Chuck Wagon Dinner on Thursday night August 6th is $700 The concert afterwards with performances by Russ Marsh is free to everyone Commissioners Moon hopes the people of Millard County realize that there are two concerts during the week the fair The concert on Thursday August 6th at 8:00 pm in the indixtr arena by Russ Marsh is free everyone is vited to attend The concert on Friday August 7th at 8:00 pm in the indixtr arena by Mark Peterson and Hank Thompson is $10 Moon also paper The State Parks and Recreation stated that they would do a better job at patrolling the Gunnison Bend Reservoir in the future They realize the dangers and the possibility of accidents Brinkerhoff has Commissioner had problems with the Fairgrounds in Fillmore The difficult organizations are using the facilities and not leaving it as they found it Railings arc not getting broput back at the Fair facilities in Delta over the weekend with the horse show and roping competitions Commissioner Baker also stated that the outdoor arena worked great The roping competitions went well in the new facility A letter was received by Edward A Dimmick of California regarding the purchase of a parcel of property owned by Millard County serial DO 3205 He made an offer on the property in the amount of $720 discussed The Commissioners with Thaync Henric the conditions of the Eskdalc road and the possibility of upgrading the road A discussion was had on the ticles that were published in the last week regarding the Notice of Tax Increases by Millard County and the Millard County School District Auditor John Hansen explained that the form is mandated by the Utah State Legislature and by law has to be published Auditor Hansen discussed with the Commission the amounts and percentages listed also the rate changes with the partial exemption granted to 1PP The following percentages are Millard County's distribution of Property Tax based upon the 1991 tax distribution Cities and Towns 13 Millard County 202 Other Districts 158 Sduxil Districts 628 The Millard County Commission dixis not control the amount of taxes levied by the schixtl district Millard Sehixil District is a separate entity Millard County only collects the taxes then distributes them to the separate entities as shown above The appointment to the Millard County Weed Board was tabled The decision for appointment will be made after the weed board meeting in September 1992 Auditor’s Agenda An explanation of health insurance was given to Commissioner Mixm to review Various invoices were approved for payment An approval of payment was made to UAC in the amount of S141 for continued litigation of PILO
