explained The MHS Cheerleaders spent a week at the Spirit International Association cheerleading camp in St George The girls prepared plans for generating school spirit and involving the community The first pep assembly will be held Friday August 26 for the first football and volleyball games of the year The girls’ volleyball team competes Sat Aug 27 at Richfield Millard vs Hurricane in football here Friday at 4 pm Football concessions include candy and pop by the yearbook staff and hamburgers by the FFA Club There will be a victory dance after the game Friday night about 8:30 WTliU The last session of summer swim lessons ended last Friday This summer has been a real success for those participating and their teachers The West Millard Pool would like to the thank everyone for supporting “Learn to Swim” program The diving class offered the last two sessions was a new venture in the summer program at the pool Four basic dives were taught including a front dive hurdle and back dive Students had a good time learning and improving their dives Just a reminder to those members of the 50 mile club to check on the wall at the pool for mile cards Congratulations to the achievements the members have made Aqua Aerobics Now that school has officially resumed the Aqua Aerobic classes are once again being offered The course lasts three weeks with classes held on Monday Wednesday and Friday at 10 am Aqua Aerobics is done standing in waist deep water Workouts consist of slow stretching to warm up the muscles then about 20 minutes of endurance movements to get your pulse up to aerobic levels Then comes strength and flexibility exercises and the last 5 minutes are devoted to relaxation known as the “cool down” There is no need to know how to swim no sweating involved and the
