Show Middle School Christmas Program The Fillmore Middle School 6th grade Christmas program will Be held Monday Dec 21 at 8:00 pm at the Middle School All parents and friends are invited to come join us and “Gift Wraop December with a Song” Correction Preference Dance to be held “I’m of a White Christmas” is the theme song for this year’s annual Preference Dance This girl’s choice dance will be held Saturday Dec 19 from 9 to 12 pm in the DHS gym The price is $600 per couple Bring an ornament to decorate the Christmas tree which will be at the dance and get 50 cents off the price of admission The tree will then be dreaming donated to a Delta family Pictures will be taken This dance is sponsored by the DHS Along with this dance the students at DHS vote on the senior guys to obtain the ten most preferred The ten this year are: Rick Porter Jim Cox Marshall Sherriff Russ Henrie Kelly Cox Rhett Rowley Matt Hall Steve Tolley and Kelly Anderson Justin Peterson Teddy Bears on parade It hasn’t been a picnic though it’s been a lot of fun making Teddy Bears for the Senior Citizens at the Delta Nursing Center The Alternative Learning Center students have been busy working hard to get the Teddy Bears finished for Christmas The Hinckley Lions Club donated the money for the material and the students furnished the manpower cutting and sewing together over thirty bears Mrs Carol Spor and Mr Dave Noah spearheaded this project Mrs Spor made up the pattern and directed the cutting out a very very important step She made certain every scrap of material was used! borrowed from Sewing machines the Home Economics Department were set up in an assembly line Each student had a certain job to do and did it well Young men and young ladies cutting sewing and stuffing the bears The eyes and noses and mouths were one of the steps that gave each bear its own personality Each one was finished by hand sewing 1 Mrs Sherry Pollard and Mrs Camele Rowley sat at the knitting turning out a variety of scarves for each bear If they happened to be sewing Margarita Lazaro directed the students on the knitting machines (She has become quite an expert) Mrs Sarah Jo Louder was covered from head to toe with fuzz and is now called “Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear” Mr Dave Noah can sew a fine seam and was heard to say he “wanted one” The creation of the Teddy Bears has been a learning experience for all volved Sometimes it was a push me pull me affair but all was more than worth it Teddy Bears are the most loved toy in the US Just like people each one is different They will take a lot of loving You can get all the hugs you want and each little bear seems to be saying “I want to be loved by you” Merry Christmas everyone from all of at the Alternative Learning Center at Delta High Delta Middle School The Fillmore Middle School Honor Roll was incorrectly identified as the FES Honor Roll in the Dec 17 issue of the Chronicle Progress Kodi Penney was also left out on the Sixth Grade High Honor Roll Question: What’s the best way to wrap cookies for holiday mailing?
