Show mrjrifu Page 10 - Millard County L'SPS KANOSH Dathel Whitaker Ph Maria Whitaker was happy to have the newlyweds her grandson Mike Wunderlich and his new bride Minnie as house guests for two days recently They are making their home in SLC Mike is the son of Don and Carolyn (Whitaker) Wunderlich A large crowd was in attendance at the Kanosh Ward Chapel on October 5 1987 for the lovely funeral services for a special sweet lady Anne Leach who was born in Tennesse 61 years ago The family prayer was given by Bishop Bill Turner Prelude and Postlude music was played by Martha Stott Bishop Vernon Christensen conducted these services and read the Obituary of Anne Leach followed by the Opening A solo prayer by Blanche George “There is a Savior” was sung by Dorothy Pauley Remarks were by Sue Turner Koyle Relief Society President The tribute was made by Chris Greene sister to Anne A second solo “These Hands” was sung by Steve Stott accompanied by his wife Martha A tribute was made by son Bruce Leach Then a trio “The Lord is My Shepherd” was sung by Roena Shields and Alice Christensen Elaine Halsey Remarks were made Bishop Vernon Christensen and a solo “The Lord’s Prayer” was sung by Dorothy Pauley friend of the family The closing prayer was given by Sharon Blad and the dedication of the grave was given by Dean Perkins Anne is survived by husband Robert Leach of Kanosh father Henry of Clarkran Tennessee Her Gertrude Winningham mother Thurs Oct 1987 15 Ryan Kyle and Matthew Her grandfather took her for a ride on his while the family gathered in the family room to surprise her and sing Happy Birthday when they returned Best wishes to Cleown Watts for a speedy recovery following surgery at the Beaver Hospital She is home and doing quite well W'ard Hawaiian Gardens California Winningham of Mendota Virginia Pallbearers were Calvin and Lloyd Brian Leach Kesler Mr Gonzales Edward Eich husband of grandson Virginia and James Winningham Bob Leach and family wish to extend their love to the people of Kanosh for all their kindnesses love and support given them during the long illness of their loved one Anne with Sacrament In connection meeting on Sunday October 11 was the Missionary Homecoming report of Elder Ron Lee Counselor Stan Koyel reminded the congregation that there would be no meetings at the Kanosh Ward on Sunday October 18 because of Area Conference in Fillmore where three or four General Authorities would be in attendances Scouts Bake Sale Announcements: 9 am and ham dinner pm Friday Oct 16 Business: Sharon Blad was released as Primary Inservice Leader Arlene Turner was sustained to fill this position Primary President Pam presented Ryan Higgs to Bishop from for graduation Christensen Primary Bishop accepted Ryan into Aaronic Priesthood to be ordained a Deacon Following Sacrament services a letter was read by Brother Koyle of the Honorable release of Elder Ron Lee signed by Brother R J Snow of the South Mission Testimonies were given by Elder Lee’s parents Joy and Dean Lee both being thankful to have their son return and as an honorable missionary brought safely across the great waters and home! The closing song was sung by members of the Lee family accompanied by Martha Stott Elder Lee was pleased to have his family in attendance Following the meeting the Lee home was filled with family and friends to partake of a delicious dinner which climaxed a beautiful day Ron will be going to school and working in Logan Utah Randi Kae Higgs was honored on her 4th birthday October 9 at a dinner at her Whitaker grandparents’ home She was accompanied by her parents Terry Jared and Anita and four brothers preceded her in death She is also survived by sons Bruce and Steve Leach sisters Geneva retire yet!” On Sept 5 Roena was in Salt Lake Lana City to be with her daughter Nielson and husband Kay for the birth of their First child It was a girl Shayla Kay will be her name Roena stayed to lend a helping hand in the Nielson home Little Amanda Sutherland has been in Kanosh receiving lots of love and attention from Grandma and Grandpa Shields while her parents were moving back to Salt Lake City from Ft FL Lauderdale Lula George of Kanosh and her cousin Jim Taylor of Calif enjoyed a trip together to visit relatives Jim arrived in Kanosh where he was a guest of Lula before the two of them left on Sept 15 to spend six days with their Uncle Richard Hamilton and who live 15 miles out of wife Roosevelt From there they drove to Ogden to visit another cousin Then on to Idaho Falls ID where they stayed three days with relatives one of which was a cousin on Lula’s father’s side of the family who Lula went to the Idaho Falls Temple with after his wife got off work While in Idaho another cousin from Orem joined the group so it made a Jim and nice trip for all concerned Lula returned on Sept 25 where he stayed two days to rest up before traveling on to his home in Calif On Sept 20 Olaf and Blanche George were in Chandler AZ to attend Farewell for their the Missionary son of Spencer George grandson Bishop Ray and Sharon George which was held at the Alma 9th Ward They session of al Stephenson Salmon ID They came down for the missionary farewell of John’s sister Ruth Stevens and husband Bill last Sunday A large crowd attended the missionary farewell for Bill and Ruth Bill and Ruth entered the MTC in Provo yesterday Wednesday October 14 Stopping in to visit Lester and Jean Dobson last week were their mission president and wife President and Sister Ballard and their daughter Michelle Sept 27 Elder Spencer George was given time to bare his testimony which was a Farewell Testimonial to honor him before leaving for the MTC prior to his mission field in Sweden During the meeting Primary President Pam deGraffenried presented Cris deHaan to Bishop Christensen to be advanced to the office of a Deacon Gordon Staples was sustained to be a teacher in Primary Tuesday Sept 29 was a special day Dathel and Lorraine for Melvin Willard Whitaker with around 45 other members of the Fillmore Stake to be attendance in at the Manti Temple to witness the marriage of Lynn and Lynette Davies Bond and the sealing of their three beautiful children to them To make the day more special was to have Lynn’s mother Iris Bond in the her own same session receiving endowments Funeral Ruth was Kenneth’s brother Terry his wife Teresa and their little daughter They stayed to visit until Sunday then left for their home in St George Ruth received a telephone call Oct 2 from her son Carl Allen of Fairfield CA telling her he and wife Caroline’s Terry Autrey of Sacramento CA had died in a car accident Sept 30 in the Los Angeles area Terry is the husband of Roberta Allen Autrey They have a little daughter Terry was a police ofFicer of one month He had been in the LA area as a rookie highway patrolman He was stopped in the far outside lane talking with a motorist when another car ran into Terry Ruth her son Dean Allen and his wife Shirley left early 3 am Sunday to attend funeral services at 11 am Monday Oct 5 Services were to be held at the Day Spring Open Bible Burial will Mortuary in Sacramento take place in Fairfield Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Allen and Autrey families They have visited here many times Terry and Roberta and tle daughter spent a week here
