were Dr and Mrs George Stott and daughter Sydne Davis and four children son Randy wife Joleen and Five children sons Courtney Stott who is a student at BYU Troy and Karima and baby of Provo Coming from Emmett ID were Dr and Mrs Gerald Stott their son Lonnie Stott wife Suzanne and 6 children of Salt Lake daughters Merry Pearce husband Monty and 5 children ID daughter Shelly New Plymouth Bratten and 4 children St George Driving up from Bloomington were Madeleine and LaVae Smith son Kipp wife Cindy and 3 children Glendora CA son Kirby Peggy and 2 boys Ogden daughter Kelly and Jay Jolley and 3 children Spanish Fork another daughter Kimberly married and living in Anchorage AK was unable to be here Coming from Bountiful were Jayne and Ed Swapp and 3 boys Gwen and Mike Evans and 3 children Edith and Boyd Dearden all of Fillmore Wood and 6 Cherryl and Robert children Holden Steve and Martha Stott and 5 children of Hatton joined them for a fun day of visiting with a barbecue at noon and a delicious dutch oven dinner that evening The next day on Sat Aug 8 129 descendants of Alonzo and Clara George met at the Kanosh Park for a Besides all of Grace family reunion Stott’s family mentioned above the following descendants of Preal George were Inez and Bert Beeston of Fillmore Lloyd and Leola George and their daughter JoAnn Redd and 6 children Orem daughter Janet Finlinson husband and 10 children of Dallas TX son R L George wife and 4 children of Connecticut Driving down from Bountiful were Cecil and Norma George and their daughter Gloria husband and children Jill of Bountiful daughter and 2 children of Delta The following descendants of LaRue were there: Don and Ann Stevens of UT Gary and Sara Stevens and son Travis Fillmore daughter Tammy Sherwood and 2 girls Price daughter Tory and husband John Robision and daughter Traci and baby Fillmore husband Shim Callister Cedar City Glade Stevens wife Jolynn and son Carson of Fillmore were there also A delicious buffet lunch was served at noon While the children enjoyed games and sports under the direction of Ed and Jayne Swapp adults enjoyed the following program Lloyd George talked about his father Preal George Thurs Aug 13 1987 Lloyd and Leola’s grandchildren presented a short skit about Preal’s life and Inez gave an interesting account of Preal’s early life Don Stevens talked about his mother LaRue and Gary and Sara’s daughter Traci read a beautiful poem Sara had written Don’s wife Ann then read the life story of LaRue Gerald Stott gave an interesting account of his mother Grace’s life Genealogy and pictures were displayed and it was a very enjoyable day Gwen and Mike Evans were the chairmen for both reunions Overnight guests of Luula George on Tuesday Aug 4 were her Eleanore George and Birtha Peterson of Ferron UT On Wed Aug 5 these three ladies took a trip to Lehman’s Cave then on to Delta for dinner They also visited Eleanore’s son Jeff George and family who live in Delta and who are building a home in Sutherland with plans to move there Recent visitors in Kanosh and Meadow have been Dathei Whitaker’s and Iris Bond’s sisters Carma Cutler and Leora Allen They also visited their at the mother Juanita Charlesworth Fillmore Hospital Vera Cutler Sterm of Calif is a guest of Carma’s in Elsinore so accompanied Carma and Leora to do some visiting in this area During the First part of Aug Lula Faye Kesler and Brandy George Robinson attended a Warren Family Reunion at the Huntington State Park and really enjoyed the day There were On about 50 relatives in attendance their way over and back they stopped in Ferron to visit Bertha Peterson and Eleanore George Kanosh Scouts are kept involved and busy in their scouting program Their summer camp was held at Scofield Base) Kanosh (Aquatics Scouts earned 39 merit badges 16 skill awards and 4 rank advancements Scouts participated in water activities such as swimming snorkling canoeing rowing motor boating sailing yachting and kayaking They competed against 19 other troops in the water Olympics They placed 1st 2nd or 3rd in 4 of the 6 events We are very proud of their accomplishments Guests of Glen and Lilly Whitaker and family on Sat Aug 8 were friends Russell and Ranae Lee and 2 children Eric and Amber from Orem Utah The Lees brought a dutch oven dinner (ready for the fire) for the two families to enjoy Two years ago the Whitakers became acquainted with the Lee family as Lilly and Russell were involved in the Wood Badge program at Maple Dell The families have kept in close touch since this time As Russell is related to the early Ahlstroms of Kanosh they were desirous of visiting the Kanosh Cemetery to locate graves and information Willard and Dathei accompanied the two couples to the cemetery and enjoyed helping to locate them HOLDEN Cherryl Wood Ph A large crowd attended the missionary report of Elder David Condie last Sunday in the Holden Ward Many friends and relatives were down from Salt Lake to hear David report his mission to Japan JoAnn Condie served dinner to all of her family at their home in McCornick after Sacrament Meeting to Beverly and Congratulations Jerold Thatcher on the birth of a baby girl on August in Nephi Hospital The new baby will be named Jennifer and has a big brother and a big sister at home to welcome her Recent visitors at the Thatcher’s have been Joyce and Levitt Thatcher and Donna McNee all of Mesa AZ and Edith Lamb and daughter of Las Vegas Frank Singer is a patient in the Fillmore Hospital this week We hope he will be able to come home again soon Lester and Jean Dobson hosted a missionary couples reunion at Fish Seven missionary Lake recently couples that they knew in New Guinea all brought their campers and enjoyed visiting for several days The highlight of the reunion was seeing videos of the members they all knew on their missions in New Guinea Joy and Stan Harmon werp in St George to attend the wedding of their Robyn and Kevin Kesler and little son Kyle will surely be missed in Kanosh as they plan to move to Ames Iowa in the near future Kevin will be teaching at Iowa State in the Dept and Engineering Agricultural working on his PhD in Agricultural Education Robyn will be raising Kyle They will be in Ames for 3 years then will return to Utah Best wishes to the Keslers There were 19 in attendance at the Lamanite Branch for Sac meeting on Aug 9 1987 The testimonies and talks given by Elders Billy and Stokes (fulltime missionaries) were very interesting A large crowd was in attendance at Sac meeting at the Kanosh Ward on Aug 9 to hear the fine missionary report of Elder Dan deGraffenried who just returned from serving a misGA Following the sion in Atlanta meeting Dan’s parents (Ed and Pam were hosts at a family deGraffenried) Kanosh dinner at the City Park where around 60 enjoyed a delicious meal Kenneth F Hutchinson age 71 former Kanosh resident passed away Aug 6 in American Fork Utah He is survived by his wife Silma Jand three sons and three daughters Funeral services were held Monday Aug 10 at American Fork We extend our sympathy to the Hutchinson family foster son Carl (Begay) Clark and his wife and Donna and her husband went with them They all drove on down to that Las Vegas for the reception evening Otto and Allie Hunter are a with baby girl great grandparents born to Deck’s daughter and husband Mrs Brenden Bartz of Denver CO Jane Carling and two of her children spent last week here visiting her parents Otto and Allie Hunter Descendants of Ben and Lorena Stephenson met at Whiskey Creek Ranch for their annual weekend reunion AH ten of the remaining brothers and sisters were there with twelve of the thirteen families being represented One hundred and three were in attendance for a thoroughly enjoyable time In town for the reunion and visiting family members were Willis and Joan Stephenson from Salt Lake City and Duane and Margie Stephenson from West Valley City Rhea Dean and George Stephenson enjoyed having their daughter and husband Debbie and Rod Meppen and family of Smithfield spend last weekend with them Rhea Dean took Realaine two of her daughters Brinkerhoff of Fillmore and Debbie Meppen of SmithField and granddaughter LeAnn Christensen of Flowell to Cedar City to see the Shakespearean Festival of Tom and Berneice Stephenson CA and their daughter Glendora Shirleen Sills and two children of Las Vegas are here visiting Elmeda Turner The Stephensons have recently returned from a mission to the Phillipines Don’t forget the Budget Dinner tonight (Thurs Aug Kimber Gale Fransworth June 8 1953 in the Manti LDS Temple She was educated in the Utah schools with the majority of her schooling in Delta She moved often and had many friends in Cedar City Pleasant
