Rock Julie Damron with Richard WY Diane Hornsby Fort Springs Pierce FL Vicki Parish Houston TX and Dottie Howe with Taylor Kelli Chris and Michael Mentor OH They all traveled to Salt Lake City for the Missionary Farewell of Douglas Damron (son of Mike and Kathy) on Sunday Douglas will enter the mission home August 12 and prepare for his South in Johannesburg mission Africa All of the Damron family were in attendance and enjoyed a great day Diane Vicki and Dottie all returned to their homes on July 29 but Dorothy and others of the family kept Taylor Kelli and Chris for another weeks vacation Visiting at the home of Ralph Crafts have been Blanche’s sister Dorothy and husband Bert Giles from Fresno CA They were on hand to help honor Ralph as Marshall of the Day on the 24th and visited in Oak City Canyon and with her parents in Oak City Mary Shannon and Whitt Lovell and family spent time at the home of Sharon Western and in Oak City with Burton and Loma Lovell The twins Eva and Elsie Blake have been spending some time at the Blake home here They live in Calif Clifford and Ann Prichard took an overnight jaunt to Ely NV Rodney Wright and his friend John Marlowe Nielson went on a camping trip to southern Utah Carol and Mike Palmer met Carol’s nephew David Kennedy of Ireland at the Salt Lake airport Carol is excited to have a member of her “Ireland” family visit her here He is also a nephew of Yvonne Spencer and they are looking forward to a months visit with David The family of Doug Spencer gathered together Sunday for the blessing of Ronald and Cristina Spencer’s little girl She was given the name Britney Teryn Spencer by her father Here for the special event were Dwight and Clair Alldredge and family Shirley Renolds and daughters of Provo and Brent and Yvonne and family of Hinckley A family dinner was held on the lawn of the Spencer home after the blessing Sharon Western went to Salt Lake to get her daughter Darlene who flew in from Maryland She had been staying at the home of her sister Lieuwen Boyd for two months Lieuwen has had surgery for skin cancer on her arm They cut down to remove all the growth on her arm as well as removing 14 other moles from her body t test for Melanoma She is resting at home now but is in a lot of pain Elaine Turner and her mother went to Payson last week to take Joyce home She had been visiting a few days with relatives and friends in this area while recovering from surgery They also visited with Paul and Dorothy Theobald in Orem and other family members living up there Paul Theobald has been here helping his mother LaVern Theobald with her yard work LYNNDYL LEAMINGTON Connie Best Ph: David and Sybil Lallas and daughter Tammy from So Dakota and Wess and Nona Duncan from El Paso TX spent time with relatives in Lynndyl and visited with Hazel Sheriff in the Delta Hospital Hazel is doing better each day and hopes to return home soon Shirley Sheriff had overnight guests Keith and Eloise Merryweather while they got their mobile home ready to be moved back to Provo where they now reside FILLMORE Angie Green Mary Jo Foster came to Fillmore to visit her parents LeGrande and Mary Davies and to attend her class reunion which was held in Fillmore on July 23 While she was here she also visited her brother LeGrande K Davies Ijis wife Shirley and their children in Orem and enjoyed spending some time with a school friend who she hadn’t seen for many years In Fillmore she also visited with relatives and friends LeGrande Mary and Mary Jo went to the Provo Temple LeGrande and Mary doing six sessions and Mary Jo four This was an exciting opportunity for Mary Jo as she is preparing to be a seminar teacher in Adams WI This will be a challenge for her as she will be teaching LDS students from and other nearby Adams Friendship towns LeGrande and Mary drove Mary Jo back to Adams a distance of 1531 miles driving taking 33 hours of When they returned home they brought four of Mary Jo’s children with them Sarah Amanda Rachael and Arthur They will be staying until August 14 at which time they will all make another auto trip back to Adams WI Elaine Goddard has enjoyed the this company of her grandchildren Two grandsons spent the summer with her and a week of July visited the week of Jugranddaughter 2 ly On Tuesday Aug 4 George and Myrtle Rowley and Paul and Dorothy Beckham went to Deseret taking with them paintings quilts afghans and other crafts which had been made by senior citizens since they were 70 years of age They set up a “Pahvant Valley Seniors” display and because it is the only one of its kind it has received mention” and a lot of “honorable attention On Wednesday Aug 5 Dorothy and Myrtle attended a luncheon given for the Fair Board judges and helpers On Thursday the Rowleys and Beckhams took their instruments to Delta and played at the Senior Citizens Day Program after which a parade got under way but a sudden wind a really mean wind came up bringing buckets of rain and hail The Rowleys and Beckhams were barely able to get their instruments in the shelter of a building before too much damage was done Most of the East Millard entries in the fair received a blue ribbon and Beth Scottorn won the Grand Sweepstakes on an embroidered picture Matt and Lee Townsley are enjoying the company of four of their sons Bob’s children Tammy Stacy They went to Stephani and Anna Tousan AZ and brought them back to Fillmore to stay while their parents Bob and Debra Townsley moved to River- - NOTICE OF TAX INCREASE The West Millard Mosquito Beckham went to Salt Lake City to attend the Lynn Anderson show in which their son Virgil Beckham played in the orchestra When they returned home Virgie came with them to help celebrate Dorothy’s came home from his mission Later in the week Sharia’s mother Amiela Johnson from Alpine UT visited with her along with her aunt Hallie Cotrell from Ripon CA her sister Susan and son Andrew Jess Baker from Payette ID and her niece Tauni Carnesecca from Alpine They all spent a nice day visiting Bishop Alden and Erma Nielson along with their children Doug and Roberta Nielson and family Dan and Doreen met at the home of Robert and Louise Carling for a lovely family dinner Oasis Ward sponsored a ward swimming party at the Delta pool on Aug 5 A good crowd was in attendance and a good time was enjoyed spent Thursday in Provo for a doctor appointment Mrs Carolyn Hayden from Tooele visited during the week at the homes of her mother Edna Christensen and sister Beverly Eliason and family Mrs Paul
