Susan Mork Woolsey Delta Peggy Rae Hansen Delta and Liesl Finlinson Oak City A record 337 graduates were honored at the graduation services including students from 16 states and 7 foreign countries Among those graduating 210 received Associate of Science degrees 55 received Associate of Arts degrees 50 received Associate of Applied Science degrees four received diplomas and 18 received One Year head coach for Delta High basketball The appointment School was announced by Kenneth Topham of Schools Superintendent A native of Delta Jensen graduated from Delta High School in 1969 and from Dixie College in St George in 1971 He received his BS Degree in Business Education from Brigham Young University in 1973 Dale Jensen assumes the head coach position following years of coaching experience From 1974 through 1980 he served as assistant basketball coach at Delta High He also served as head track coach for the high school from 1974 to 1978 and again in 1980 Along with coaching high school sports he has successfully served as Little League Basketball and Football coach Jensen and his wife Marilyn reside in Deseret with their four children Dive for Money CEU graduates and Prizes Day Two Delta High School Graduates were part of College of Eastern Utah’s 49th Graduating class on Friday June 5 in the Athletic Center University of Utah's President Chase N Petersen delivered the commencement address to the 200 graduates while honorary degrees were awarded by the CEU Institutional Council to James M a Carbon High School Thompson Teacher and Neil Peacock an Emery High School teacher Rebecca Winsor and Kori Morris Delta were graduated with an associate of science degree Miss Winsor attended the past two years on theatre scholarships and was editor of the College entertainment newspaper She appeared in or worked on every college play produced in In conjunction with the Great Basin the West Millard ComCelebration munity Swimming Pool will hold a Dive for Money and Prizes Day this Friday June 19 at 2 pm Dive for Money and Prizes is a unique fun day for the Millard County Pool because as far as it is known no other pool around has a diving day like this All youth from ages three to 16 years are invited to come to the pool this day and try their luck at diving for money and colored washers which will be thrown into the pool There will be hundreds of pennies nickles dimes and quarters thrown into all parts of the pool for the youth to find The colored washers are turned into the pool office for prizes of candy candy bars and toys The toys to be given away this diving day are airplane gliders sponge windmill whistles balls shooters inflatable sharks and paratroopers beach balls hundreds of them All the to dive age which according youth makes little girl and we wish her mother lots of luck at I mouthAdams Parents urged to check to lost and found items at Fillmore Elementary With school out until August 27 the Fillmore Elementary School has been left with a large stack of coats sweaters gloves and other items It seems that many students forgot to check to be sure they took home everything that belonged to them If your child may have left something at school you are encourag ed to come to the Fillmore Elementary and check through the lost and found items After a reasonable length of time lost and found items will be donated to Deseret Industries Fillmore Elementary will be open through the end of July from 9 am to 2 pm news The West Millard Community Swimwishes to ming Pool management thank Dorothy Barkdull of Fillmore who for the past four years has organized the Fillmore children for summer swimming lessons She has done a great service for Fillmore Because of her desire to serve her community many 100’s of youth from the east side of Millard County have learned to swim Dorothy is retiring from this service so starting next year (1988) Vikki Warner of Fillmore will be the Fillmore swim lesson coordinator Don’t forget Diving for Money and Prizes Day this Friday June 19 at 2 pm The cost is regular admission to the pool On Saturday June 20 an All Comers Swim Meet will begin at 12 noon This is going to be a fun meet with all swimmers swimming no longer than one length of the pool The swimmers will be put in age groups and according to sex even adults will be swimming If you want to win a candy bar come Saturday to the
