Delta’s two day celebration City merchants are holding a sidewalk sale from 10 am until 6 both days People wishing to travel to Great Basin National Park will be shuttled by buses from Delta to the Affairs Manager for the Intermountain Power Agency had done a magnificient job coordinating the events of the day all of which went off without a hitch Preparing for the celebration was no small task Sod was laid an earthen stage complete with freshly planted flowers was prepared tents and canopies were installed and a barbecue lunch for the masses was prepared and served Hundreds of local people had been hired for the sole purpose of making the day of dedication an overwhelming and successful extravaganza Utah and California dignitaries were flown into the Delta airport where a special air traffic controller imported for the day handled the planes and jets as they arrived The entourage was then driven to the IPP site Prior to the dedicatory ceremony Rod Clark project manager expressed his pleasure in a most successful project He noted that they had had a very tight schedule and that the task had not been an easy one “We had a very dedicated work force of 4600 workers” During
