Today there are eighteen motel units hotel rooms at the and The hotel part is the Starglo with entry type through the officelobby Some of the rooms have private baths but others have only a sink with bathroom facilities down the hall “People don’t appreciate hotel rooms today” Bryce said “They like conveniences and easy access” In the old times guests gathered in the lobby to watch TV and chat There were times when all the rooms were full so the Ashbys accomodated tired travelers with couches andor sleeping bags Owning a motel is a confining life for r someone must be present hours a day If Bryce and Geneal go out for an evening or take a little vacation a must be called in Local friends understanding the situation often stop by for an evening of cards or visiting in order for the office to remained tended With the needs of people ever in mind the Ashbys answer calls at any Delta Sports Center's BIGGEST Sale Ever! that carry only selective yardages and on the the apparel markets Finally she will show her portfolio to the designers who hopefully will purchase 10 to 50 yards at a time At this time not all of Kathy’s hand woven fabrics are hand spun but many are When she starts her business she tends to use all commercial yarns Norman Mincer who is the manager of the converter station for IPSC is says it only for trim Kathy made contact with the Cotton With her Research organization knowledge and skills she provided there and in several demonstrations other places in Arizona Here in Delta she has demonstrated a few times in the schools The Mincer’s Delta home in which they have lived for three years houses large 60 inch 16 harness AVL loom which arrived in pieces from Chico There are also spinning California wheels yarns books and other trade in the bright related paraphernalia room Elsewhere in the house Kathy has three other looms- -a 24 inch one a 26 inch one and a 40 inch one A patient temperament must be essential for spinning and weaving for they are indeed complex and arts Hand prepared wool must first be washed carded and dyed before it is spun After it is spun Kathy puts in on the warped loom The warp is carefully planned for width and length of fabric Kathy must determine how many threads will be in each inch and how many yards for each warp The next step is winding the threads on the spools Then each thread is put from the far planet Pluto takes five hours and 40 minutes |
