special occasion Each enjoying the fine and delicious luncheon progtam visiting Olive Whitaker Ahlstrom and daughter Betty spent Sunday Aug 31 in Kanosh at the home of Maria Whitaker Guest speakers at the Lamanite Branch on Sunday Aug 31 were Ann and Doug Nielsen and three of their five children With Doug announcing the program Spencer was the fust speaker followed by Anna then Martha The family then sang “Families Can be rorever" Ann was the next followed by her husband speaker who was the concluding Doug speaker Nora Price was the organist were Each did a fine job in attendance to enjoy this program Guest speakers at the Kanosh Ward 31 Lee and were Marion on Aug Madsen and son Troy who spent their in Kanosh summer They each delivered fine talks Robert Brunson was also given a few minutes to make which repotted his an announcement recent mission call He will be entering the MTC in Provo on Oct 8 before leaving for his mission labors in Seattle WA His farewell testimonial will be held at the Kanosh Sac meeting on KANOSH Dathel Whitaker Fh ula George was happy to have her Mary Warren of Havasu City AZ as an overnight guest recently Mary was on her way to visit her two sons in Ogden where she spent 2 weeks On her return trip she again staved overnight with Lula Being concerned parents Bob and Jean Phillips made a trip to Myrtle OR to visit their daughter Point eniham and husband Larry Rosalee after receiving word that the Lcnihams had lost their drug store b fire Within a week or two they leased another building a few blocks from the other diug store and were back in business with plans to build a new again building Bob’s and Jean’s son Roger fiom Pocatello ID was also visiting the l emhams Metta George Rcvean Newby Pam Willie Call Joyce Minton dcGraffcnricd and I inda Sith enjoyed the days they spent at Lducation Week on BYU Campus immensely Nonna Paxton enjoyed a special neat while in Sale ake City recently She attended a baby shower for her gieat great granddaughter Randic ynn Robins Hosting the baby shower were great grandmother Colleen Paxton and Wilkinson Sharlene grandmother Proud mother is Lori Robins The following MHS 1986 graduates will be missed from among us as they begin to leave their nests to enroll in has Fmmy deGraffenried colleges already left for Ricks College in Idaho who recently Charlie Her brother returned from a mission accompanied mmy and is also enrolled at Ricks Danene Pei kins is at BYU In the latter part of Sept Sherri Whitaker will be leaving for I DS Business College in Salt ake City Dcanne Perkins will be going to SUSC in Cedar C'ity and Kyle Stott will be on his way to Snow College in I phraim in Sept also so these live youths will be pretty well scattered The best to each of them Guests at the home of Revean and Ward Newby have been their friends Max and Marge Jensen of Salt Lake City and Bishop Rex Roberts and wife Pal from Diamond Valley Nevada A guest of Nina Black during the abor Day weekend was her lla (Black) Turner of Provo Utah Otheis visiting family and friends in Kanosh have been Spencer and Venna Black also of Provo They have enjoyed the cool of Adelaide Park where they have had their camper parked Joe and Minnie Whitaker descendants gathered at the Fillmore Wild il'e Park on Sat Aug 30 where they held their annual family reunion which was in charge of Georgia and Merlin 03 IN MEMOIHAM Ray Ray LYNNDYL LEAMINGTON Connie Best Ph: Grayson Chetyl and Gloria Roper recently took a vacation up to the Expo 86 in Canada They took Jackie Jennifer and Jayson Webb along with them in their camper On the way up they stopped in Montpelier Idaho and attended the mission report of Kevin Tolbert son of Keith and Paulene Tolbert That evening they traveled on to Burley Idaho and stayed with their son David Roper and family They stayed 3 days at the fair and then visited in Tacoma Wash with Ivan and Jean Andrus former Deltans Then on down the coast they traveled stopping to stay with Mrs Ray Murdock of Eugene OR After a splash in the ocean viewing the sea lion caves and the redwood forests they had to come home but only because school was starting It was a fun trip This past weekend Jackie and kids Cynthia and Dennis Cook and kids Mike and Rosie Peterson Paul and Tricia and kids all visited the Ropers and celebrated Leamarado Day Next weekend Grayson and Cheryl will be in Sandy where they will attend the blessing of Jeralyn new daughter of Cynthia and Dennis Cook and attend another family gathering ran Lovell Lovell Ray “I ” Lovell age 68 died August 29 1986 at his home in Oak City He was born August 27 1918 at Oak City to Milton Brigham and Myrtle Trisby Lovell He married Ora Sina Peterson at Fillmore on November 24 1937 She died September 6 1952 He married Rosamay Webb May II 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple He attended schools in Oak City and Delta He served in the Phillipines Japan and New Guinea during WWII He received the Purple Heart for shrapnel injury He worked on the Ranch Union Pacific McIntyre Railroad Oasis Seed Plant and Millard County Road Department Ray was an active member of the LDS Church He is survived by his wife of Oak sons and
