Show II Page Millard County 16 Walter Glcr Rawlinson Walter Glen Rawlinson Walter Glen Rawlinson 79 died October 5 1984 at the West Millard Delta Utah Hospital Hospital He was born August 28 1905 in Joseph Sevier County Utah to Walter W and Eliza Moore Rawlinson He married Rayda Henrie May 29 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple Glen earned his livelihood farming in Millard County while exploring many avenues of interest enriching his life and those of his family and friends He is survived by his wife of Delta and the following children: Glen Keith Mrs Fernard C Show Low Ariz Blake (Sandra) Las Vegas Nev Lewis Earl Delta Ut Mrs Kyle N (Annette) Jacobson Sprinsville Ut Dr William Kim San Antonio Tx Dane Henrie Ismir Turkey He was preceded in death by a son Walter Mark He is survived also by sisters: Lemira Day Austin Tx Lynette Thorderson Ut and brother Harvey Cleveland Mesa Az Funeral services were held in the USPS Ihurs Oil II 1984 Delta Ward Chapel Monday October 8 1984 Interment was in the Delta Cemetary under the direction of the Nickle Mortuary Glen graduated from the Delta High School in 1925 He then helped his father run the farm for several years He was called to fill a mission in the East Central States spending his time in Kentucky He filled an honorable mission and then attended Snow College in Ephriam for one year After their marriage in 1933 Glen and Rayda made their first home on what was called the “Bender Ranch” in the vicinity of where the Delta Cheese Factory is now Glen had a great love for nature and This made him a the good Scout Leader He had love for boys and patience to lead and teach them He enjoyed hunting and fishing not so much for the catch and quarry but for the camping and the enjoyment of the beautiful canyons and mountains However he was a good hunter and nearly always got his game He enjoyed sitting on a rock and listening to the sounds of nature and taking in with his eyes the beauties around him Glen had an orderly analytical mind He could study a problem and find a solution He took care of the things he had He could make what he He needed out of the things around could fix whatever needed to be repaired If Glen said “It cannot be fixed” it was really beyond repair had Glen many capabilities to do he Whatever he undertook became proficient He was a and made He copied photographer pictures for his family and for others making much of his own equipment His family’s Books of Remembrance are full of treasured family pictures that he made for them He was a tinsmith and built and stalled heating systems around this area that are still working well after many clean and pleasant He especially enjoyed being a part of all the activities of the Sutherland Ward Glen was an entertainer and musician Through the years his family children and grandchildren loved to hear his stories and music He played the guitar He also sang and was at ease entertaining in any group He loved to dance especially with For many years they went Rayda around to the wards of the stake teaching dancing to the young people of the MIA He organized a square dance group and enjoyed calling and dancing in the group Glen enjoyed conversation and loved visiting with people He enjoyed people and freely associated with them He had a special sense of humor and Glen a sense of what was appropriate could be firm but still be kind and considerate He had a great capability for loving love for his love for his patents brothers and sisters for Rayda and for his children and grandchildren Last month when little Rachel his youngest grandchild - daughter of Tess and Lewis was to be blessed he wanted to be there So with great fortitude in his advanced illness few of us can understand and with the help of his family he went Glen was always busy and creative When he became ill and not able to work he still needed to keep his mind busy He designed a pattern for a quilt for Rayda to make and helped her make it They called the new design “Council of Stars” The new quilt won a sweepstake at the County Fair and at the Regional Fair Glen and Rayda have given their children a heritage that money could not buy A heritage of faith and works a love of pride in accomplishment home and family They have spent their lives creating a great heritage and sharing it with others Lola Cox Dalton CLEANING TIPS Viola (Lola) Cox Dalton 82 died at the Delta Hospital October 5 1984 Born Sept 2 1902 at Lehi Utah to Joseph and Mary Thornton Cox She was married to Edward M Dalton on Jan 15 1925 at Parowan Utah later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple He died Feb 7 1970 She moved to the Delta area in 1936 where she has since resided She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in the various organizations She is survived by three sons Keith
