audiences with their comic duets and Caroline took the comic characters the parts and always entertained audiences making her very popular She also assisted her husband with She also sang leading the choir comic songs and took comic parts in her a very busy making plays woman but was always good company Caroline was a good mother always willing to help her children and others with their assignments both in Fillmore and Oak City She and the her children helped neighbors’ chidlren make beautiful valentines and little gifts She made with little pieces of masterpieces color paper Her fingers fairly flew when knitting hats and gloves She made beautiful straw hats and sold them She taught her children all of these accomplishments and how to card wool into bats and many other helpful acts Indians were a problem at the time In Oak City the Indians were camped in the hills just outside of Oak City the They frequented homes and asked for bread One day she had just taken a batch from the oven when in walked an Indian and picked up a load of bread and started off She hit him on the head and grabbed the loaf of bread She hit him hard enough to knock him to the floor so he jumped to his feet and ran out of the house saying “Heap brave squaw” The Indians did not bother them again After John Williams' death on May 6 1887 she moved to Oak City where she spent the remaining years of and riding different rides Most of this trip was provided from the cookie by the bonus money sales in March The Cadet Troop 1021 went on a trip to Lagoon and had a pizza supper Sept 29th with their cookie bonus money On Oct 4 there was an investiture ceremony for the Girl Scout leaders in the Fillmore area at Pat Long’s house The leaders taking part were CAROLINE GENEVA JENKINS DUTSON Jenkins Caroline a Geneva and Sarah of Nathaniel daughter Holt Jenkins was born June 30 1835 in London one of eight England children in the family While she was playing on the sidewalk a larger girl She
